Elias Langley showed no sign of apology for offending his brother; instead, he raised an eyebrow and said, "Juliana is my wife. You humiliate her, you humiliate me. I don’t care who you are. Here, anyone who doesn’t behave only faces one outcome."
Juliana glanced at him, but said nothing.
Victor Langley finally realized the danger of the brother standing before him. This Elias was someone who didn’t care about any rules, family ties, or consequences.
Rosalind Linton saw this and stepped forward to console her enraged yet terrified husband.
"Victor, let it go. Elias is in a special situation now, and no one can gauge his temper. Don’t confront him head-on, or you’ll end up worse."
Victor’s leg hurt so much that cold sweat dripped from his forehead, and he had no choice but to drop it.
But he still vented his anger on his two sons.
"You two ungrateful sons, always protecting her. Have you abandoned your father to be her lackeys? Take me back to the hospital."
His current condition required a return to the hospital to re-treat the leg that had undergone surgery.
Jared Langley and Adrian Langley exchanged glances but ultimately said nothing. Returning to Victor’s side, they helped him towards the door.
However, Elias suddenly spoke, "Leave Kingsford within an hour, or I can make sure your leg will never mend."
Leaving Kenton City within an hour meant Victor had to book the fastest flight immediately and rush to the airport.
His leg could only receive treatment after the plane landed.
"I’m your brother..." Victor shouted, eyes wide with anger.
Elias’s expression remained unchanged, "My grandfather’s last name isn’t Paxton, don’t randomly attach kinship."
Victor’s face turned blue with anger but was ultimately carried into the car by the two sons.
Rosalind lingering behind, breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing Juliana walking alone towards the courtyard, she hurried over, whispering, "Can you handle him now?"
This ’him’, of course, referred to Elias Langley.
"He’s nothing if not manageable," Juliana replied nonchalantly.
Rosalind nodded and quickly said, "Victor and I are already registered, but due to your husband’s incident, the wedding is postponed. I see Jared’s thinking is getting active too. Once we return, we’ll take action and won’t give Victor a chance to collude with the Paxton Family."
Juliana nodded, saying nothing more.
Rosalind hurriedly caught up to the Langley brothers, and the car soon drove away.
Elias Langley paced over to Juliana, his gaze dark and fixed on her.
"You seem more familiar with Jared and Adrian than I imagined."
Juliana turned her gaze to him, suddenly laughed softly, her brow full of blatant scorn.
"Maybe next time I can formally introduce you to my third and fourth lovers."
After speaking, she didn’t look at him again and instead called Raine Kane to leave for work.
Elias stood there, silent, unmoving, with an impenetrable gloom surrounding him.
Suddenly, he chuckled lightly, his gaze shifting from the entrance door back to Steward Fay, asking frivolously, "Is my hair color normal?"
Steward Fay, "..."
When Iris Paxton reached the hotel, Nathan Carter had just thrown a fit.
A man with ordinary looks but an extraordinarily fierce demeanor exited the suite, bumped into her domineeringly, didn’t pause for a moment, nor offered any apology, and walked straight away.
Iris rubbed her shoulder and walked in.
The floor was a mess.
"I didn’t call for room service," Nathan said, back turned towards her.
"It was me."
Upon hearing Iris’s voice, Nathan turned to her, frowning, "Didn’t we agree not to meet privately?"
"This time is different," Iris replied, a hint of happiness in her tone, "I’m here to tell you that your goal is about to be achieved."
Nathan didn’t believe her at all, scoffed, "With your brainlessness? If something happens, it’d be a blessing if you don’t drag me down."
Iris replied unhappily, "I’m coming to you with good intentions, how can you say that?"
Nathan pointed at her nose and cursed, "You injected double the dosage into Elias, what were you thinking? Now it’s perfect, he’s forgotten you along with your bargaining chip, yet you dare come see me? If you weren’t a Paxton, I’d throw you out right now!"
Iris bit her lip, moved forward, and said, "You’ve never been by Elias’s side, how do you know what I did was wrong? Yes, I made him forget me, but you overlooked one thing, Juliana’s personality is not liked by men."
Nathan looked at her, seeming to think she had a point.
Juliana, this woman, was prickly, plain-looking, spoke harshly, it was natural for men not to like her.
"So I’ve already got progress on my side," Iris continued, "As long as I can assist Elias in clearing obstacles, he will fully trust me, favor me, even quickly divorce Juliana. By that time, whatever you want to do to Juliana, who would dare stop you?"
Nathan Carter was doubtful, "What do you want me for?"
Iris Paxton raised an eyebrow, "I don’t kill people, I just need Adrian Langley’s opponent to become a vegetable. You have those biological agents, right? The kind that ordinary methods can’t detect after use."
But Nathan Carter had reservations, "Why should I believe you’ll succeed?"
Iris Paxton puffed out her chest and said, "I promise you, within a month, Adrian Langley will agree to marry me."
In the afternoon, Juliana Jacobs returned to the courtyard just as Adrian Langley and Iris Paxton were about to go out.
Iris Paxton was dressed in haute couture, gently holding Adrian Langley’s arm, demure as a dove.
Seeing Juliana Jacobs return, she didn’t let go of someone else’s husband but instead smiled at her and said, "Tonight, Uncle is inviting some business friends to dine at Aethelgard, introducing them to Adrian, and he specially requested..."
She gave Adrian Langley a loving look, then continued, "For us to go together."
"Oh, so something good is about to happen for you?" Juliana Jacobs remarked.
Adrian Langley, hearing this, turned his head, a cold smile tugging at his lips, "Maybe I should ask Old Mr. Paxton if he has a way to modify marriage laws for mutual happiness."
Juliana Jacobs met his gaze, her smiling eyes carrying a hint of sarcasm, "Diseases don’t follow laws, nor do they pick favorites; they’re garbage, better to rot together, so they don’t harm others."
Adrian Langley’s smile faded as his eyes turned dangerously dark.
This woman always found a way to anger him!
"Adrian," Iris Paxton tugged at his arm, "Let’s go, don’t keep Uncle and the guests waiting."
Adrian Langley threw Juliana Jacobs a "wait for me to come back" look and left.
Just then, Juliana Jacobs’ phone rang.
She glanced at the number and answered, "Come over, they’ve all left, and the others won’t talk."
Soon after, Raine Kane, who was guarding the gate, led Felicity inside, directly to the private room.
"Here, this is the immigration information you wanted."
Felicity handed her the file folder.
Juliana Jacobs took it but didn’t open it immediately.
"I don’t actively seek to meet you, hoping I won’t bring you trouble. Has anyone bothered you lately?" she inquired.
Felicity sat beside her, smiling, "No. Sean Paxton always reminds others ’not to let Felicity know’ whenever he takes on jobs from Old Mr. Paxton. Dylan Paxton probably assumes I’m an outsider too, hasn’t bothered me."
Juliana Jacobs nodded: Sean Paxton still acts like a man.
Felicity paused, then asked, "Are you really planning to leave?"
Juliana Jacobs touched her belly, "Once my health stabilizes, I’ll divorce and leave the country."
"That’s a good thing." Felicity’s tone was sincere, "I’ll settle in Skadia first, pave the way for you. When you come, there’ll be some backup."
But Juliana Jacobs’ brow didn’t relax, "Dealing with things here isn’t easy. Until Dylan Paxton is out of the picture, there’s no peace for me, and now there’s Iris Paxton too..."
"Iris Paxton?" Felicity lowered her voice, "There’s something you might not know. My parents’ separation years ago involved her. She...may not be my father-in-law’s biological child. Look at her face, who does she resemble?"
Juliana Jacobs was stunned, incredulously looking at her.
Felicity nodded, "This is a secret of the Paxton Family, not many people know. Keep it in mind."
She stood up after saying this.
"I’m flying in three days, don’t come to see me off. Before I leave, I’ll see what else I can do for you."
Felicity didn’t say more, leaving quietly and quickly as she came.
Juliana Jacobs sat in the room alone, clutching the file folder tightly.
She went to bed early, ignoring when Adrian Langley and Iris Paxton returned.
At five in the morning, Juliana Jacobs’ phone rang; it was Raine Kane calling.
"Juliana, Evan Grant suddenly fainted at the hotel and has been taken to the hospital."
Juliana Jacobs immediately sat up from the bed...
In the study, Adrian Langley’s phone also rang,
Just after he hung up, he heard Steward Fay’s voice from the yard.
"Madam, are you heading out before dawn?"
"Yes, going to handle some matters."
Juliana Jacobs didn’t stop her steps.
Adrian Langley opened the door, seeing her carefully walking down the steps wearing a thick coat, quickly getting into the car waiting outside the courtyard with Raine Kane’s response.
