Chapter 384: Lean on Your Husband, Cry as Much as You Want

At this moment, Elias Langley rushed in with Caleb Donovan.

Dylan Paxton’s dozen or so fierce fighters, as well as all the men brought by Luke, were completely wiped out.

Dylan Paxton was captured alive.

But the crazy old man laughed hoarsely, "Elias Langley! With your woman buried with me, I don’t lose!"

Elias Langley’s heart stopped suddenly, pulling Juliana Jacobs into his embrace.

He swiftly checked her over and shouted twice for "doctor."

At this moment, Dylan Paxton’s secretary stepped forward.

"Sir, don’t worry, the lady and Mrs. Sinclair only drank some soda water."

Dylan Paxton stared at him in astonishment.

The secretary took off his glasses, revealing a composed face.

"I am Nathan Hayes, the agent Mr. Langley placed by Old Mr. Paxton’s side fifteen years ago, I also swapped Clara Fairchild’s DNA sample."

After speaking, he walked to Juliana and handed her the repaired Jade Token.

"Madam, why did you take so long to bring the Jade Token to find me? I once thought you didn’t need me. Today, completing Mr. Langley’s important task, I especially report to you."

Juliana never expected that the person Elias Langley told her to find before his accident was actually him.

Rumor had it that there was a mysterious chief secretary beside Elias Langley, never did she think it was Nathan Hayes by Dylan Paxton’s side.

For the first time, Dylan Paxton’s calculating eyes showed almost blank confusion.

At this moment, they heard the doctor in the surgery room shout: "Miss Paxton isn’t going to make it, quick, prepare the defibrillator."

A look of despair flashed across Dylan Paxton’s face, just as he was about to bite his tongue and commit suicide, Caleb Donovan suddenly stuffed a towel into his mouth.

"Letting you die just like that, wouldn’t that be too easy for you?"

...

At dawn, the convalescent home entered the clearing stage.

Juliana pushed away Elias Langley’s support and walked out on her own.

Sebastian Sinclair saw his daughter and quickly approached.

"Are you alright?"

He unreservedly grabbed her hand, looking her over.

Juliana shook her head.

At this moment, Mrs. Sinclair was carried out.

Her condition was more severe, the severed little finger had already caused a systemic infection and needed to be hospitalized immediately.

"Vera!"

Sebastian Sinclair held her hand.

"Husband, I thought I’d never see you again in this lifetime."

Mrs. Sinclair didn’t cry when her finger was severed and she was in unbearable pain.

She didn’t cry when she was nearly put on the operating table and almost had her heart and kidney cut out.

But upon seeing her husband, she instantly cried like a little girl who had suffered greatly.

"No, we still have a long way to go, your husband will be with you."

Sebastian Sinclair escorted his wife onto the ambulance.

Elias Langley was the highest-ranking commander on site for this operation, surrounded by several people for instructions.

But he quickly gave some instructions, then walked through the crowd towards Juliana, who stood quietly in place.

Although she looked mentally alright, her bloodless lips betrayed her current physical condition.

"Darling, come..." Elias Langley opened his arms, "lean on your husband, cry if you want to."

Juliana slowly turned her eyes towards him, with a forced clarity in her gaze.

"I don’t need a man, or rather, I don’t need a man."

Elias Langley’s eyelid twitched, he took a step closer, with a teasing smile he quietly said, "No matter how long you need, I can handle many, don’t believe me, try it."

Juliana shrank her neck upon hearing this.

At this moment, after sending his wife onto the ambulance, Sebastian Sinclair quickly walked back this way.

"Juliana, your mom said you haven’t eaten much in the past two days and you’re pregnant, you also need to take the ambulance to the hospital."

The smile on Elias Langley’s face froze instantly, "You... you’re pregnant? Whose?"

Juliana looked at him calmly, "It’s the wild man’s, has nothing to do with you."

As they were speaking, the doctors and nurses from another ambulance had already pushed a stretcher over.

As Juliana lay on the stretcher, the strength she had been holding onto finally dissipated, overwhelming fatigue and discomfort instantly engulfing her, causing her vision to blacken.

Instinctively she placed her hand on her abdomen: these two children are as strong as she is, they will be okay.

Before the ambulance reached Keston Central Hospital, Juliana had already fallen into a deep sleep.

She slept very soundly and hadn’t woken up even by late night.

Mrs. Sinclair briefly woke up midway.

The severed little finger could not be reattached, but fortunately, it didn’t have much impact on her daily life. However, the systemic infection caused by the wound led to sepsis, and she was transferred to a sterile ward for close observation.

Sebastian Sinclair was stretched thin and could only entrust Juliana’s care to Elias Langley for the time being.

In fact, even if he hadn’t mentioned it, he couldn’t compete.

Whether Juliana was being pushed onto the ambulance or being sent for various examinations in the hospital, Elias Langley stayed by her side, not leaving her an inch.

The man maintained a severe expression all day, his face seemingly frozen, making it impossible to tell whether he was happy or unhappy.

In the middle of the night, Juliana gradually woke up, to be precise, because she needed to use the bathroom.

The ward’s lights were adjusted to be very dim, and upon opening her eyes, she saw the figure of a man sitting by her bedside.

"Awake?"

She hadn’t even moved, and he had already noticed she was awake.

So, had he been sitting by her bedside watching her all night?

Juliana pressed her lips tightly, not responding verbally, just attempting to sit up by herself.

But after sleeping for nearly a day, only having had some IV fluids with no food, her body was weak and exhausted. Her arm gave out, and she fell back down.

The next second, the man agilely leaned down to support her back, skillfully raising the pillow.

"I... I need to use the bathroom," Juliana said awkwardly.

Without a word, Elias Langley stood up to carry her.

But Juliana shrank to the side.

"I can... walk by myself."

"Okay."

He agreed, but didn’t loosen his arm, only adjusted his position, letting her stabilize herself against him, then half-embraced, half-supported her to the bathroom.

Juliana was slightly surprised.

Elias Langley had no edges tonight.

"Do you want me to... go in with you?"

Juliana snapped back to reality and hurriedly shook her head, "I can do it myself."

After speaking, she held onto the door and entered the bathroom, locking it with a "click."

Rejecting him as if rejecting a stranger.

Elias Langley stood at the bathroom door, devoid of any extra expression on his face.

The hospital bathroom door was very thin.

The sounds inside naturally couldn’t be hidden from him.

Even though Elias Langley’s eyes weren’t following, his ears were.

Juliana knew this as well, her cheeks slightly flushed when she came out after dawdling.

Only then did Elias Langley give a low chuckle, "Is it very hot?"

"None of your business!"

Juliana wanted to walk on her own, but Elias Langley, as before, half-embraced her in his arms and led her back to the bed.

He helped her lie down, carefully tucked the blanket in, and pulled the edge of the blanket up to her chin, his fingertips brushing her skin, warm and gentle.

After doing all of this, he sat back at the bedside, gently placing his hand on her abdomen.

"Sleep now, you three... all have a good sleep."

Juliana was still very tired, having not eaten for two or three days, she didn’t feel hungry, just tired.

Without much thought, she closed her eyes.

About ten seconds later, she suddenly reopened her eyes and sat up with effort.

Elias Langley quickly leaned over, his arms reaching around her sides, his hands steadily supporting her back.

This posture as if afraid she would be harmed even a little.

"Husband... is it you who’s back?"
