Chapter 388: Epilogue

Juliana originally worried about Elias Langley, who had just returned, fearing he might not be suited for the role of "father" yet, considering another Elias was the one who made all the preparations throughout the pregnancy.

But after coming home from the hospital, her apprehension vanished into thin air.

Elias took care of her and the two children meticulously, from her postpartum diet adjustments to wound care, from midnight feedings and diaper changes to logging every growth milestone.

Even though there were enough nannies and childcare experts hired, he insisted on doing everything himself.

Throughout the confinement period, he carried all the responsibilities so well that Juliana never had to worry about a thing.

He was exceptionally gracious even when it came to naming the two children.

The sister is named Annette Langley, and the brother is named Aaron Jacobs.

When the children turned one month old, the Jacobs Estate hosted a grand banquet.

At the banquet, the gifts given by the guests were all astonishing.

Mrs. Sinclair gifted a trust of 10% future earnings from Nivoria Biotech, directly designated to the children’s names.

Meanwhile, Sebastian Sinclair offered, in his personal capacity, lifelong access to his entire chip research findings and 10% of future derived earnings.

This "technological legacy" was truly priceless.

And the gifts from the "guys" were even more interesting.

Miles Monroe offered three premium-level psychological development funds and lifelong mental health monitoring agreements.

Neither the two kids nor their mother were left out, with Juliana’s agreement containing the most coverage clauses.

Evan Grant presented two villas in the affluent area of Kingsford, with the property deeds directly bearing the children’s names. He also mentioned that if the three of them ever faced financial issues, they could always turn to this "uncle."

Jared Langley and Adrian Langley teamed up to gift 51% of the shares in "Future Technology Education Fund," a newly established initiative under Blackstar Technologies. Due to the children’s young age, Juliana was designated as the guardian.

Auden Hughes granted lifelong top-tier biomedical protection resources from "The Genesis Vault," which is under his company, as a perpetual family right for the children.

Each generous gift was a loud reminder to Elias Langley: Even without him, Juliana and the children would live a life of prosperity and security, with strong backing like a mountain.

As Elias glanced over the gift list, his face remained calm and unperturbed.

He drew Juliana, who was right beside him, into his arms, "This ’queen’s’ spot, I’ve got it secured here for life. If they won’t give up, they’ll have to become monks in this lifetime."

His words were bold yet honest. Leaning against his chest, Juliana couldn’t hold back and started to laugh.

After all the hardships and struggles, they finally reached a clear and harmonious world, with a peaceful life ahead.

...

The day after the full month celebration, Summer Shaw woke up.

Waking up to become a godmother at once.

This patient, who had been bedridden for more than a year, was so delighted that she jumped up immediately.

Six months later, Dylan Paxton and Stella Windsor were brought to justice.

Sebastian Sinclair resumed his scientific research work.

And the special equipment access authorization for Aetherflame’s "Genesis" was finally approved.

By this point, Juliana was not very concerned about this qualification anymore.

Because the value of "Genesis" had long surpassed that of a mere certification.

However, it was Elias Langley who personally pushed this through and quickly implemented it.

The man’s schemes were sharper than anyone else’s.

With this top-level technical permit, Juliana’s status aligned with her father’s, entering the core scientific talent echelon, enjoying a series of special protections, while also needing to adhere to corresponding constraints, such as requiring special approval for entering and leaving the country.

Even if she might still have thoughts of traveling afar, this invisible line would surely keep her within the protective range he could maintain.

Juliana chose to be aware but remained silent, because Elias had already given her his all. He even had no objections to changing Langley Manor’s name to Jacobs Estate.

What he gave was more and heavier than she had ever dared to hope for.

With him like this, she had no further desires and nothing to criticize.

Then, does that mean that personality won’t come back?

No, the other side of him would still occasionally return.

One night, after they had finished their business.

Juliana went to the bathroom and lay back on the bed.

The man beside her, whose eyes were initially closed, suddenly turned to his side and wrapped his arm around her, pulling her into his embrace.

His gaze was intense, and there was a trace of unique intimacy in his voice.

"Darling, did you miss me?"

Juliana’s brow furrowed slightly.

Only that side of Elias would address her this way.

She didn’t have time to react before he kissed her with authority.

The task they had already completed was done once more.

However, when the morning light broke the next day, the gentle gaze kissing her skin was once again Elias Langley with his tender eyes.

Juliana told no one.

Experiencing distinctly different tenderness, enjoying two different packages in one night, was not a fortune every woman had.

But there were also moments that gave her a headache.

When the two children enrolled in school, Juliana and Elias did not disclose their identities to the school, wanting them to receive a regular education like any other children.

Even the school opening ceremony was attended by Raine Kane and Caleb Donovan.

Yet halfway through the semester, Aaron Jacobs was cornered and pushed around by some senior students.

The reason being Annette Langley was so beautiful that she caught the eye of a senior school bully who insisted on giving her gifts.

Aaron bravely defended his sister, yet forgot he was only six years old himself.

But when the incident occurred, the teacher, fearing the bully’s family background, handled it dismissively.

After coming home, the little guy was sullen and unhappy.

Elias lounged on the sofa, listening to the child recount his woes, a cold smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.

"Does moping at home help? Take a brick tomorrow; and whoever dares defy you, give them a good whack. Go ahead and be bold. If the sky falls, your old man will hold it up for you. Remember, in this world, reason always stands on the side of the tougher fist!"

About to make a call to communicate with the teacher, Juliana froze, turning her gaze to the man exuding hostility.

"Elias Langley, you are not allowed to teach the children like that!"

The man looked up, grinning roguishly at her, yet beneath that smirk flitted a trace of the familiar obsessive viciousness, not disputing, just smiling.

Juliana’s eye twitched: There he was, back for another visit.

Just a day later, the three huge entertainment centers owned by the bully’s family were almost simultaneously subjected to "joint surprise inspections" by taxes, fire, security, and other departments. The discovered issues were handled with the strictest measures, with their establishments being ordered to close for rectification, and the related illegal acts were further probed by public security forces.

Simultaneously, a six-month campaign for campus environment improvement focused on suppressing bullying was launched across the entire Kingsford education system, providing a safe guarantee even for children from ordinary families.

Though harsh, the approach was cloaked in an indisputably "legitimate" cover.

Juliana understood that the two aspects of him had never truly separated, nor did they need to be.

They were like two sides of the same guardian spirit, one building a stable fortress for her and the children in daylight, the other always keeping the sharpest blade honed in the shadows.

And Elias Langley hadn’t given up on pursuing a political career, but his goals had become quite simple: everything he did was to protect his wife and children with greater ability.

...

When the "Genesis" technology completed its third iteration, Juliana made an important decision.

No longer considering reverting to the surname "Sinclair," nor entering the Sinclair family records.

She established a new line under her name "Juliana," standing independently.

On the day of establishing her genealogy, during a solemn yet low-key ceremony, Juliana personally placed the silk cloth with her and her children’s names into a custom-made sandalwood genealogical box, closed the lid, and locked it, completing this gesture imbued with more symbolism than formality.

Elias Langley was by her side throughout, content to play a supportive role.

He knew that from now on, in countless public occasions, his name might often be prefixed by "Juliana’s husband."

But he felt it oddly fulfilling.

Before him was this woman who soared higher and higher, a rose he himself had nurtured. Her radiance just so happened to reflect his capability.

Late at night, Elias Langley showered in the bathroom.

After putting the two kids to bed, Juliana returned to the master bedroom, changed into a cool champagne-colored camisole dress, and entered the room.

Elias found his breath hitching, his Adam’s apple rolling, and was so overwhelmed that he could hardly speak.

"Wife... wife, I haven’t finished showering yet, you... you..."

"Husband, is there something you’ve been yearning for a long time?"

Saying this, she knelt.

Elias went rigid all over, trembling as he supported himself against the wall.

"Wife, do you know what you’re doing?"

His voice was extremely hoarse.

Juliana looked up at him with shimmering eyes, "Mm, I know, you’re my husband."

The sound of running water mingled with her words.

No matter how others saw him, to her, he was Elias Langley, her lover, the sole reason she willingly bowed.

Elias Langley’s heart felt tightly gripped by this warm and solemn declaration, both aching and full.

Some love simply doesn’t require a thousand words.

She crowned him in this most intimate and reverent way, more practically than ever.

(The End)
