Chapter 911 - Bloodfang Bat

The moment Han Wu stepped into the Kingdom of Sin, his avatars immediately started gathering intelligence. They analyzed everything within a ten-kilometer radius and fed the results back to him.

Han Wu instantly learned the locations of nearby Digital Sprite clusters and the positions of the powerful ultimate ones. What he needed most right now were enough evolution points to develop the holy evolution path.

“Three kilometers to the left, there’s a Devilsprite nest. Let’s clear it out first,” Han Wu said.

The Devilsprite was the first enemy he had encountered after arriving in the Sprite Civilization. He still had a Devilsprite claw sitting in his material storage.

Han Wu’s Digital Sprites followed his command and flew toward the Devilsprite nest.

As they approached, a swarm of Lesser Devilsprites spotted them. The Iron Abyss Bug’s massive frame and the noise it generated in flight gave them away instantly. The Iron Abyss Bug couldn’t help it. It was simply too large.

Han Wu showed the Lesser Devilsprites no mercy. He had the Pseudo-Machinedrasprite use Infinity Cannon to clear the battlefield. Then Yinglong, Stinger, and Thunder Halberd handled the stragglers.

After wiping them out, Han Wu earned 40,000 energy points and 2,000 evolution points. The Lesser Devilsprites were simply too weak. As cunning as they were, no amount of tricks could overcome the sheer power gap. They couldn’t even scratch Han Wu’s forces.

The commotion drew the attention of the Devilsprites deeper in the nest. Devilsprites were the evolved form of Lesser Devilsprites and belonged to the mature tier. They ranked among the stronger mature Digital Sprites, but against Han Wu’s ultimate units, even a casual swipe was enough to crush them.

The slain Devilsprite dropped Demon Claws, and Han Wu soon discovered that Demon Claws of the same attribute could absorb one another when gathered in sufficient numbers.

More than a hundred Demon Claws merged into a grotesque, vicious claw over three meters long. It could serve as a weapon for a Digital Sprite or be used as a material during demon-attribute or dark-attribute evolution.

Han Wu was pleased. If he could gather even more and continue merging them, he could possibly create a material strong enough to support an ultimate evolution. That would let him develop a demon evolution path as well.

In addition to the Demon Claws, Han Wu obtained a Dark Gear, which could fuse into any Digital Sprite’s body and greatly boost its power. However, it carried a high risk of driving the Sprite insane, making it a double-edged sword.

Most contestants would stay far away from a Dark Gear, terrified their Digital Sprites would lose their minds and turn on them. Han Wu wasn’t worried. Dark Gears were toxic to normal Digital Sprites, but one type could use them without issue: the Nuclear Locust.

Nuclear Locusts existed for Self Detonation. A power boost from a Dark Gear simply meant a larger explosion. After the blast, both the Dark Gear and the Nuclear Locust would be destroyed. There would be no risk of going berserk. The two were a perfect match.

Han Wu stored the Dark Gear and continued deeper into the nest. Before long, he encountered a powerful perfect Digital Sprite: the Vampsprite. Unlike Devilsprites, Vampsprites were humanoid, strikingly handsome, and highly intelligent.

This Vampsprite had come to avenge its fallen subordinates, but upon seeing the multiple powerful ultimate units surrounding Han Wu, it quickly reconsidered. It wanted to surrender.

The sudden turn of events caught Han Wu off guard. This was the first time a native of the Sprite Civilization had voluntarily pledged loyalty to him. Under normal circumstances, the natives and those from the Divine Civilization were enemies.

The Vampsprite dropped to its knees and swore allegiance on the spot, then offered up the Devilsprite colony’s treasure, the Blood Mask. It was a powerful special material that could grant a Digital Sprite the blood attribute during perfect evolution, along with formidable blood-related skills. If worn directly, it would grant an ability to drain life force.

The Blood Mask reminded Han Wu of his Nightwing Butterflies stored within the Microcosm. They were mature Digital Sprites that could drain the life force of other Digital Sprites to heal a target’s injuries. If one underwent perfect evolution with the Blood Mask, what kind of abilities would it gain?

The evolution points required for a mature to perfect evolution weren’t particularly high. Hence, Han Wu immediately ran the Nightwing Butterfly icon through the Evolution Tree and incorporated the Blood Mask into the process to enhance the outcome.

The Nightwing Butterfly’s perfect form was soon determined as the Bloodfang Bat. Its frame grew to the size of a basketball, and through its successive evolutions, it had accumulated four powerful skills.

[Bloodfang Bat (perfect, Heroic life form). Skills: Bone-Melting Venom, Blood Drain, Crimson Halo, Corrupted Blood Arrow]

[Bone-Melting Venom: The Bloodfang Bat’s attacks carry a toxin that dissolves flesh into blood.]

[Blood Drain: Absorbing blood heals its wounds and increases its strength.]

[Crimson Halo: All allies within the aura receive life force from the Bloodfang Bat to heal their injuries.]

[Corrupted Blood Arrow: Condense blood into a toxic arrow that causes the target to bleed endlessly until death.]

Han Wu reviewed the Bloodfang Bat’s attributes and concluded that the evolution had been well worth it. Its combat power hadn’t improved dramatically, but its healing capabilities had advanced by leaps and bounds. Previously, it required considerable time to absorb life force. Now, it absorbed blood directly, making its recovery speed incomparably faster.

The newly pledged Vampsprite watched the Bloodfang Bat with visible unease, recognizing it as a creature of the same type. However, it was still several times stronger than the Bloodfang Bat, so it had little concern about being replaced anytime soon.

While Han Wu was still celebrating the Bloodfang Bat’s creation, his avatars sent him a message. A contestant was rapidly approaching. Han Wu and the Golden Scarab were his targets.

“Coming after me is one thing, but specifically looking for the Golden Scarab?” Han Wu said, confusion creeping into his voice. “Is that fellow constipated or something?”
