"Come to my place after the event today."
Qiao Anlu was in the middle of applying makeup when she received a text from Ning Zesheng. She glanced at it and tossed her phone aside.
The last time she left in anger, Ning Zesheng didn’t even try to console her. Now he’s texting her, asking her to go to his house.
She’s determined not to go!
With a pout, Qiao Anlu felt very displeased. Xiao Kui stood by her side, too afraid to speak. After the event was over, Qiao Anlu picked up her phone again, hesitated for a long while, and finally replied, "What for?"
"Eight o’clock, be there on time!"
This guy!
Why is he always so bossy?
Doesn’t Qiao Anlu feel terribly wronged?
"Just take me to the villa by the riverside directly." Qiao Anlu slumped in her chair and said dejectedly.
Xiao Kui couldn’t help but ask, "Sister Lu, are you going to see Mr. Ning?"
She laughed gossipingly, but Qiao Anlu just glared at her, "I’m going to my doom!"
Thinking of Ning Zesheng’s expression, Xiao Kui gave Qiao Anlu a look of sympathy as she watched her leave.
The early spring night fell quickly, and Qiao Anlu almost twisted her ankle stepping up the stairs. Damned streetlights, why aren’t they bright enough?!
Letting out a big breath, she rang the doorbell but got no response. Impatiently, she started to bang on the door, which was not closed. Faint light seeped through, prompting Qiao Anlu to slowly walk inside.
There were candles scattered from the door all the way inside, forming a path. Qiao Anlu swallowed hard and slowly walked upstairs. As she reached the top, she saw Ning Zesheng standing in the center of a heart-shaped arrangement of candles, holding a bouquet of roses, and looking at her.
He wore a white shirt, the dim, faint light casting on him, giving him a somewhat solitary world feeling. He took off his glasses, and the sparse bangs on his forehead stood upright, making him appear more rugged and composed.
Qiao Anlu’s eyes were dazzled for a moment, and she stood dumbly at the top of the stairs.
Ning Zesheng couldn’t help but call out, "Aren’t you coming over!"
Only then did Qiao Anlu let out a breath and slowly walk over. She hesitantly stood in front of him, and together they stood within the heart-shaped candlelight.
Ning Zesheng smiled slightly. When he smiled, he was actually very good-looking, not at all the coldness when he was expressionless. Instead, it was a kind of good-looking warmth. He handed the flowers over, and Qiao Anlu quickly took them, her head lowered as her entire heart fluttered.
"You actually really like candlelit dinners, right? I looked it up online; girls like this kind of thing. How’s it?" Ning Zesheng asked as he lowered his head, the candle flames flickering in his eyes, making his gaze appear softer.
"Did you purposely set this up?" Qiao Anlu asked a bit bashfully.
"Of course! Considering your brain doesn’t seem very bright, but your grudge-holding ability is quite impressive. You really haven’t contacted me all these days."
"Why is my brain not bright? Why do I hold grudges? Clearly, you called me dumb first, and shouldn’t you have consoled me when I got angry? Other boyfriends do that; even the idol drama I filmed last time was like that." At this point, Qiao Anlu might as well blurt it all out. "In short, I feel nothing like your girlfriend. You always like to boss me around, not caring about me at all."
Heaven knows how much effort Ning Zesheng put into such a grand gesture, and how long he spent looking it up online.
"You’ve just filmed too many idol dramas. I think you should move more towards film development in the future, do more representative works..."
"Oh, so you think my acting is poor, don’t you?"
