Chapter 466: A Strategy for the Trial

"First of all, official documentation." Koisuke Fujita spoke, taking out a whiteboard before starting to write something there. "This is the most troublesome part that sometimes, people like to skip. However, this is where so many rookies fall before their career can even start, so listen carefully, okay?"

This time, not just Higo, but the girls also nodded, even having a phone in their hands to write everything they needed.

"Well, the first three parts are easy. A passport, a short-stay Schengen Visa, and a flight ticket to go and return, I don’t think this will be a big problem, but if you finally accept my term as your agent, I would also be the one who deals with this matter."

Higo frowned a little bit while he nodded secretly. The boy still hadn’t seen which part needed more attention here. Those three were easy enough that there was no way he would make a mistake.

"You still think that those three are easy documents, right?" Koisuke Fujita asked, catching his expression. "However, the next part is something that would only work if you have someone like me. The next part is this!"

Invitation letter

JFA ’No Objection’ Certificate

FIFA player passport

"The top one is the invitation letter from the official team, to confirm that you are going there for them. This is going to be crucial not only when you arrive at the border control, but also to register a valid insurance later on." Keisuke Fujita explained.

When talking about insurance, Minami stopped for a moment, noticing how crucial this was. She was about to ask, but in the end, the woman shook her head, realizing that this should be mentioned later.

"JFA ’No Objection’ Certificate, getting released by the federation, is needed to show that you are a player under the federation, and they are allowing you to go. This is something you can only get through some channels, and an official agent with a big agency name like me will make things easier for you to get later." The man said with his chest huffed, not even hiding his pride in his company name.

Then, as the conversation started to shift toward insurance, Higo’s mind started to drift away elsewhere. The mumbo-jumbo terms the man talked about somehow failed to reach his head. However, based on how intent the girls were paying attention, especially her sister and Kumiko, Higo couldn’t help but sigh secretly.

’I sure am so blessed to have such a wonderful family, huh?’ He thought in melancholy.

The other players were dealing with all these matters by themselves, having to guard their own interests even against the agent. Him? He just needed to let the girls fight for his own interest, knowing that they would never let him suffer.

As the explanation went further, it seemed Koisuke Fujita also realized that Higo was dozing off. He glanced for a moment, noticing that the player who should be the main character himself got left out, and finally decided to bring something more realistic for him.

"After all the administration is over, it is time for us to talk about our trial strategy." He smirked lightly, tempting Higo with this topic.

"Trial strategy? You need one for that?" Higo arched his eyebrows lightly in question.

"Of course, there is!" The man patted his chest proudly. "First, we will categorize it into three outcomes: If you didn’t do well, if you did well, and if you did exceptionally well. Each one of the scenarios has a different outcome, so do you want to hear them?"

"Sure." Higo nodded, feeling his interest piqued.

"Well, the first one is when you didn’t do well." Koisuke Fujita explained. "I doubt this would happen, but this is definitely the worst-case scenario. In this regard, I would ask for the data of the trial here, then, using our time staying in Germany, we will try to sell you to the other teams there, hoping that a few are interested in picking you up."

Higo frowned at this scenario. Indeed, this was the worst one, involving his having to beg from one club to another. However, Fujita himself had said that it was only if he didn’t do well, and while Higo would never say it out loud, he was always a proud person, never believing he could be underperforming in such a crucial stage.

"Then, we have the scenario if you just did well, not that good enough to be noticed straight away, but still among the standard of the club itself." The man continued. "At that time, I will definitely ask the team how they intend to develop you. If it were just to be a backup goalkeeper, especially in their junior system, we could just leave for the other team. At least, we get a result that your trial is up to their standard, so more teams will be willing to get in touch with you. But if they are willing to give you room to develop, we are going to stick with the team for a while."

Higo nodded once again, but still did not like the scenario. In his mind, all he wanted was to go to one city, play for one trial, and BAM! Everything was over with him getting recruited. Who would’ve thought that everything would be this complicated?

"What about the last scenario?" He asked.

"Well, personally, this will be our favorite one." Koisuke Fujita grinned. "You do everything so well that the main team cannot ignore your potential. At that time, I will definitely ask for more special treatment, from your playing time to a wage and bonus that is suitable for a youngster like you. At that time, they would have no choice but to accept, and we have a complete initiative in our hands."

Silence followed as the girls glanced at Higo for a moment. The boy himself pondered deeply, looking at all the explanations in front of him with his mind wandering far. He didn’t understand so many professional terms there, but based on that explanation, the boy could at least catch the gist of everything.

"So, all I have to do is play exceptionally in the trial to the point that no one can ignore me, huh?"

Right after that, the grin on Koisuke Fujita’s grew bigger than ever.
