Chapter 1032 - 1059: Enmity with Me (4)

Mia Ginger followed those students and ended up creating quite a few language jokes.

There were a few anecdotes that were quite famous within their circle.

Camden River was lost in thought when he heard Mia Ginger hesitate before asking, "By the way, you just mentioned organizing things; did you buy a house?"

The two of them were quite familiar with each other at this point, and Mia Ginger had a pretty good grasp of Camden River’s background.

Not to mention other things, with all the various scholarships he’d won over the years at university, buying a house in Cloud Capital was no problem at all, especially since he had plans to settle there. He had previously mentioned some urgent matters he needed to take care of upon his return to the country, which is why Mia Ginger asked.

Camden River just smiled lightly, "It’s not that quick, just looking for now, currently staying in a hotel."

"Oh." Mia Ginger responded, reminding him, "Remember to throw a housewarming party when you move in."

Camden River: "..."

After a moment, he muttered, "I might forget many people, but not you."

Mia Ginger chuckled, then suddenly recalled Windsor Myres’ call from last night, and tentatively asked, "Are you together with Windsor Myres?"

She phrased it as a question, but her tone was certain.

Camden River replied calmly, "Yes."

"That’s quite good."

"Are you driving?"

Camden River heard a harsh honking sound over the phone.

"Yeah, on the road."

"Then focus on driving." Camden River advised, slightly frowning.

"Alright, I’ll hang up now."

Mia Ginger hung up the phone, took off her headset, thought for a moment, and then confirmed her plan for tomorrow morning, focusing on driving.

Meanwhile—

Camden River looked at his phone, dazed for a moment.

Ever since Windsor Myres visited his home that day, every time he thought about her, he felt a sense of helplessness.

He had no real experience in relationships, just Windsor Myres, an overwhelming experience during his school years, leaving a deep impression. At least, whenever he thought of love, she came to mind.

Marrying her seemed like the right choice.

Now that Windsor Myres had met his parents, he should definitely visit her mother within the next six months.

If everything went as expected, they’d marry after graduation.

The wedding should be held back in Riverside.

But—

Having a car and house in Cloud Capital was still necessary for him.

Mia Ginger wasn’t wrong; these things were not hard for him. The majority of his income wasn’t just from university awards, it was from his other identity, Jiang Qingyue Ming.

He was a somewhat famous writer and commentator in the country, with his articles published in various national newspapers and magazines since middle school. In his freshman year, he discreetly made it onto the national writers’ wealth list, though his rank wasn’t particularly high, so it didn’t gain much attention.

Simultaneously—

The circle he was in wasn’t comparable to the online literature scene, lacking the extravagant gossip. Most people there critiqued social issues with great depth, and compared to veterans, he naturally needed to keep a low profile.

Camden River contemplated for a moment, then turned on the computer at the desk.

His phone rang.

Rosy Harris sent him a message via WeChat.

It was a photo.

Camden River’s expression changed as he looked at the photo, remaining dazed for a long time.

The photo showed many people, but what caught his eye was Windsor Myres and Victor Williams sitting at the same table. Windsor Myres was talking to Victor Williams with a calm demeanor, not doing anything exaggerated.

As Camden River was lost in thought staring at the photo, Rosy Harris sent another message, "Your girlfriend brought me to a charity banquet. Hey, it feels like the guy next to her might be her ex-boyfriend, quite handsome too."

Camden River tightened his grip on the phone, put it down on the table, and didn’t respond.

His feelings were complex.

Windsor Myres was competitive, especially with rivals, he understood.

But—

Rosy Harris wasn’t really a rival yet, why did she bring someone to a banquet?

And Rosy Harris agreed to go?

These two women, what were they thinking, he couldn’t figure it out at all.

For the first time, Camden River felt he was unable to handle women. Originally, after two years abroad to calm down, he’d matured significantly, his emotions more reserved and controlled, yet even so, facing relationship entanglements still left him drained.

In reality—

He and Rosy Harris came to Cloud Capital together, discussing quite clearly on the way.

He’d been with Windsor Myres for several years, planning to marry next year. Rosy Harris was smart, naturally understanding the implication.

Wasn’t Windsor Myres creating trouble?

Camden River raised a hand to rub his temple, not wanting to deal with it.

Rosy Harris waited a long time without a reply, pursed her lips with a smile, and put away her phone.

Windsor Myres exchanged a couple of words with Victor Williams, feeling a bit down as she glanced at Rosy Harris, not speaking as she sipped her wine.

Can you blame her for feeling down?

Initially, she invited Rosy Harris over with two intentions.

First, Cloud Capital was filled with elites, so she wanted to remind Rosy Harris that there was no comparison between the two of them, it was a power play like at the River Family, she needed a place where she fit in seamlessly to make Rosy Harris realize her position. Second, she created an opportunity for Rosy Harris to voluntarily leave Camden River, to get out early.

But—

Who would have thought she’d run into Victor Williams right away?

The circle in Cloud Capital was small; she and Victor Williams crossed paths often in the past couple of years, and time changes people. Now, they both had lost their youthful edge, more low-key, and could spare each other face in public.

Yet, even so, she didn’t particularly like interacting with Victor Williams and avoided it when possible.

She hadn’t forgotten about Camden River’s fight with him, each time she saw him, it brought up unpleasant memories.

Windsor Myres kept a cold expression.

Next to her, Victor Williams clenched his hand around his wine glass.

He was no longer young, having indulged in playfulness since his youth, and now, with a slight desire to settle down, the issue was not finding the right person.

Madam Williams naturally had choices, but he wasn’t interested.

The person he wanted was Olivia Williams, who seemed gentle and soft, yet was quite assertive.

Her sudden marriage took him a long time to process; over time, he appeared to accept it, but still had unresolved feelings.

Strangely enough, he didn’t want to follow Madam Williams’ wishes in dating.

He wanted to marry someone Madam Williams wasn’t too keen on.

Looking around, he strangely started thinking Windsor Myres wasn’t so bad. Before, she was easy-going and lively, now she seemed to want to be a good wife and loving mother, he found it interesting, wanting to further understand her, to see what this woman’s heart was really about.

Victor Williams looked at her, his mind in turmoil.
