Chapter 1034 - 1061: My Girlfriend (2)

Rosy Harris smiled, "I didn’t expect you to like Camden River so much."

"You’re pretty much as I imagined."

As soon as she said that, Rosy was momentarily speechless, feeling down, when she suddenly heard her ask, "Do you know Tong Tong?"

"Who?"

"Tong Tong, you attended the same high school."

"Her?" Rosy thought for a moment, then said aloofly, "I know her, not well."

She seemed unwilling to say much more.

After all—

Riverside City is only so big.

Tong Tong’s father is enthusiastic about charity, and is famously protective of his wife and daughter. She couldn’t not know them.

In comparison—

Even though she was raised in comfort, her family wasn’t nearly as happy.

The memories were obviously unpleasant, and Rosy pressed her lips together, fell silent, and her gaze, consciously or unconsciously, drifted over to Caiden Ward.

Caiden Ward was no longer sitting in his seat.

He stood in a spacious gap, leaning down and talking to a girl.

The girl looked less than five feet tall, fair and tender, in a sleeveless knee-length light yellow dress, her long hair tied into two fluffy braids resting on her shoulders. She tilted her head, her face brimming with a smile like pristine flower petals.

But—

Rosy’s gaze was quickly drawn to another person.

The woman holding the girl’s hand, she seemed to be... the legendary actress Rosalie Tanny?

Rosalie Tanny wore a stylish short haircut, dressed in a floor-length pearl white gown, her eyes smiling as she stood beside Caiden Ward. The two looked perfectly matched.

Rosy was a bit dumbfounded.

Not only her, but in fact, Caiden Ward was also somewhat confused.

After sitting down earlier, Maeve had said she was going to the restroom and followed the waiter out.

Unexpectedly—

She returned holding Rosalie Tanny’s hand.

Caiden Ward’s face didn’t look too pleased, but he never lost his temper with the little girl, smiling as he asked, "Why did it take so long to come back?"

"I met Sister Rosalie outside the restroom." Maeve looked up at him, pouting and smiling, "The man who came with Sister Rosalie is so fierce, I don’t want him. Sister Rosalie can keep you company."

Caiden Ward: "..."

Maeve casually glanced around, spoke seriously, "Look, all the uncles and dad have brought pretty ladies."

Caiden Ward took her to one side.

He half-squatted down and asked gently, "Tell Uncle Ward, what’s going on?"

"I think you should also bring a pretty lady." Maeve pressed her lips together, still smiling, showing no sign of feeling wronged.

Caiden Ward thought for a moment longer, then asked, "Do you like this lady?"

"She’s a big star." Maeve nodded.

Caiden Ward looked at her bright and clear eyes and, for some reason, felt a bit choked up. After a moment, he nodded, smiling, "Then we’ll do as you say."

"Okay." Maeve pressed her lips together.

Caiden Ward stood up straight, escorted her to Louis Cox’s side, and then sat at the main table with Rosalie Tanny.

Maeve sat beside Louis Cox, playing with the knives and forks by her hand.

Looking at the cake in front of her, she suddenly didn’t feel like eating it.

Louis Cox glanced down at her, smiled softly, and asked, "What’s the matter? You were fine when you left just now."

"Uncle, why are you getting married?" Maeve suddenly asked.

Louis Cox was taken aback, and so was Madison Leaf, sitting on his left. Both were speechless for a moment.

After a while, Louis Cox pressed his lips together, smiled gently, and said, "Why ask this all of a sudden? Uncle is at the age to get married, naturally."
