Madam Ward’s face was livid as she looked at Caiden Ward with extreme displeasure.
A mother knows her son best.
She knew exactly what kind of temperament and disposition her son had. He appeared affectionate but was in reality cold, seemed charming but was actually fickle. Over the years, he mingled among the flowers, but it seemed only Rosalie Tanny had a place in his heart.
Yet—
A certain Maeve emerged out of nowhere, capturing all his attention.
Over the past two years, she’s seen it clearly; he wishes he could give his heart and soul to that child.
Rumors in the circle said that Ivy Cox is just like her mother, born to make men pay. Caiden Ward has been amorous for years, and now he’s fallen, to become another Cesar Myres.
In her view, he’s not just becoming another Cesar Myres, he’s surpassing him!
At least Cesar Myres didn’t raise Ivy Cox from childhood, right?
Her son, however, has unwittingly found himself such a hassle and yet seems to enjoy it.
She knew clearly that he hasn’t sought out a woman in two years, compared to his previous behavior, it’s even more concerning.
No matter what, she wouldn’t allow such a scandal to appear within the Ward Family.
Madam Ward’s gaze then fell on Rosy Harris.
Rosy Harris, initially shocked by Caiden Ward’s words and actions, became unexpectedly nervous upon seeing the elegant lady in a dark blue dress, of over fifty years. She whispered, "Hello Madam Ward."
"Your surname is Harris?" Madam Ward looked at her with a slight frown, unable to recall a family with the surname Harris in the circle.
After all, Rosy Harris had a gentle, sweet disposition, well-mannered appearance, appearing nervous when held by Caiden Ward, looking like a well-bred girl.
Rosy Harris gazed at her and introduced herself, "I’m from Riverside, currently working in Cloud Capital."
"I see?" Madam Ward nodded, neither showing satisfaction nor dissatisfaction, speaking in a very formal tone with a touch of distance, "I’m Kari’s mother, pleased to meet you. This child has a difficult nature, please be patient with him."
"Aunt, you flatter me." Rosy Harris quickly responded.
"Hmm." Madam Ward glanced at Caiden Ward, speaking blandly, "Don’t drive after drinking, have George Davis take you home."
"I understand." Caiden Ward nodded.
The feeling of depression in his heart slowly faded for a moment, appearing gentle and still filial.
Madam Ward was satisfied with that, turning to walk toward the waiting driver.
Rosalie Tanny quickly followed her, pressing her lips tightly.
Madam Ward turned her head to glance at her and sighed helplessly, "Kari is a stubborn child, and if he doesn’t want something, pressing him will have the opposite effect. I’m distressed and can’t assist you."
Rosalie Tanny naturally understood the implicit meaning, tears almost welled in her eyes, struggling to say, "I understand, it’s not your fault."
"Alas." Madam Ward sighed, getting into the car.
Rosalie Tanny looked back at Caiden Ward and Rosy Harris, biting her lip, and also boarded the car.
The two left behind finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Rosy Harris glanced down at the necklace in her hand, torn, softly calling Caiden Ward, "President Ward."
"Yes." Caiden Ward responded indifferently.
"This necklace," Rosalie Tanny smiled tightly, "as I said, I can’t accept such an undeserved favor, you..."
She glanced at George Davis who had come out, took a couple of steps forward and stuffed the jewelry box into his arms, smiling, "Please help President Ward keep it, I can’t accept something so precious."
George Davis was taken aback.
