Chapter 1041 - 1068: President Ward, Please Think Twice (4)

Odin Myres looked at her, the smile at the corner of his lips blooming like a snow lotus, quite gently, "Women too."

"Why do people get married?" Maeve asked again.

Odin Myres thought for a moment, "There are many reasons."

"Like what?"

"Love, wealth, power, status..."

"Why do you think my uncle married my aunt? Just now my aunt came back with us, didn’t even enter the door, and left again." Maeve suddenly thought of Madison Leaf and sighed.

"For us." Odin Myres’s tone suddenly lowered, looking at her with seriousness.

"What about Miss Cox and Father Myres..." Maeve asked again, but before she could finish, tears suddenly fell, and she looked at him with a face full of grievance, "Odin Myres, what should I do if I miss them?"

Odin Myres raised his hand to encircle her back, bringing her into his arms, speechless for a moment.

Maeve missed them, and so did he.

People always said his father was a generation of heroes, with a violent temper, unpredictable moods, but he only remembered his hearty laughter.

People also said his mother was a vixen reincarnate, born to collect debts from men, anyone who met her would suffer, but he only remembered her soft voice telling stories to lull him to sleep, even though he found those stories extremely boring.

He missed them every moment, every second, no less than his little sister.

Yet, he couldn’t say.

He was a man, missing was a sign of weakness, wearing down one’s mind.

Odin Myres sighed, raising his hand to rub Maeve’s hair, smiling, "You still have your brother, it’s okay."

"I’ve been doing what that Doctor told me, going to the church every week to talk to Miss Cox, but I actually know they can’t hear, they won’t come back to see us at all."

"You mean Dr. Jackson?" Odin Myres asked her gently.

"Mm. I saw him and Sister Mia in the afternoon, Sister Mia already started working, quite pitiable, she kept her head down eating during the dinner party, Doctor Uncle didn’t eat much, had a little drink with my uncle."

Maeve was well taken care of since she was young, simple-minded, and as soon as he asked, her thoughts ran astray.

Odin Myres also remembered Koa Jackson.

Feeling grateful.

Maeve wrapped both her arms around his waist and suddenly asked, "When you grow as big as my uncle and Uncle Ward, will you get married too?"

Get married?

It was too distant a matter, Odin Myres had never thought about it, his smile was faint, "I don’t know."

The future, who can say for sure?

He really didn’t know.

Odin Myres held her shoulder, sighed silently, and said gently, "It’s getting late, go rest early."

"I want to sleep with you." Maeve clung to his waist and refused to let go.

Odin Myres just laughed, rubbing her hair, "Be good."

"No." Maeve said softly, acting spoiled, "Brother, let me sleep with you."

Odin Myres replied helplessly, "You won’t get used to my bed."

Maeve: "?"

She released him and got up to check his bed inside the bedroom.

Odin Myres remained seated on the sofa, unmoving, soon, Maeve ran out with furrowed brows, asking him, "Why do you sleep on such a hard bed?"

"You’re like a walking encyclopedia of ’why’ questions."

Maeve bit her lip, looked at his overly thin face, tears swirling in her eyes, but eventually forced them back, silently moving forward, crouched down to lie on his lap, and said perplexedly, "But why is it so?"
