Yawning, she opened her eyes.
The bed was empty beside her; Koa Jackson had gotten up sometime earlier and was in the bathroom showering.
Mia Ginger just felt sleepy, lying under the covers, lazily glancing in the direction of the bathroom, seeing that it was still early, she didn’t get up, letting her mind wander, imagining various scenarios she might encounter at work.
Koa Jackson came out of the bathroom and saw her looking silly, paused for a moment, and asked while drying his hair, "What are you thinking about?"
"Work stuff."
As Mia Ginger spoke, she raised her eyes to look at him and froze.
Early summer mornings were quite warm; Koa Jackson came out of the bathroom wearing only boxer shorts, standing tall in the morning light, with his masculine features apparent, looking every bit like someone meant to tempt others to commit a crime.
Mia Ginger instinctively touched her nose; luckily, this time she managed to maintain her composure.
Koa Jackson couldn’t help but chuckle, turned around, and went to the dressing room to get dressed.
Mia Ginger crawled out of bed too and went to freshen up.
Then—
As Koa Jackson was getting dressed, he heard a scream coming from the direction of the bathroom.
His slender fingers paused, suddenly realizing what it was about, his expression changed slightly, he put on his shirt and headed out.
Mia Ginger stood in front of him, feeling frustrated, she looked up and said, "What do I do about this?" She pointed at a very noticeable bite mark on her chin, looking upset.
Koa Jackson was practically a dog.
Earlier he had bitten her shoulder; she hadn’t gotten over the frustration yet, and the next day he bit again. Now the bite mark wouldn’t fade, remaining on her shoulder as a small scar.
If it were on the shoulder, fine, whatever.
But biting the chin, what was he thinking, especially since the bite mark had bruising?
If she went to work with a face like that, her head-turning rate would be guaranteed to be 100% everywhere.
Mia Ginger bit her lip and glared at him, nearly in tears.
Koa Jackson looked down at her, couldn’t help but let out a laugh, lifted her chin with his finger, and lightly kissed the spot.
Mia Ginger blushed, "Kissing it won’t make it go away."
"Why not put a band-aid over it?" Koa Jackson said softly, "I wasn’t fully awake last night, it’s not intentional."
"I think you did it on purpose." Mia Ginger remained sulky.
Put on a band-aid?
In the middle of summer, isn’t that strange?
Oh well, there was no other way, she could only follow Koa Jackson’s suggestion, found a band-aid, put it on, and went into the dressing room to get dressed.
There were also a few marks on her collarbone.
Mia Ginger had no choice but to pick a light-colored shirt to wear, paired with a lightweight pleated skirt, neither too long nor too short, just above her knees, revealing two jade-like legs. When paired with shallow shoes, she appeared pure, charming, and attractive.
When she went out, Koa Jackson glanced at her a couple of times, and said in a flat tone, "Change the skirt."
Mia Ginger: "..."
In August, the weather in Cloud Capital was too hot; especially the past couple of days, you could fry an egg on the pavement, what not to wear skirts?
Online reporters didn’t have to appear on camera and were mostly young, just like Jay Lee said, they indeed weren’t very particular, comfort being key, aside from high heels and overly revealing clothes like camisoles and miniskirts, you’d see anything in the office.
Her skirt was almost at knee-length, which was nothing unusual in terms of attire.
Mia Ginger puckered her lips and retorted, "No."
No?
Koa Jackson furrowed his brow, said nothing, his expression steadily directed at her, the meaning was self-evident.
