Sitting in the office all day, Mia Ginger spent the entire day in thought, only feeling helpless.
There’s nothing she can do.
When she first met Reagon Chapman in the hospital, she scolded an intern she was with. Mia heard it and thought she was fair and just. Now thinking back, Reagon’s dedication is only applied to her work; her work attitude does not fully represent her personality.
She can harshly reprimand her junior reporters, clearly showing she lacks compassion for subordinates. When she first met Dallas Taylor, he was a few minutes late, and she immediately left, indicating she has little patience for people and enjoys having the upper hand, which makes her difficult to deal with.
At the moment, Mia considered herself a victim of Dallas’s storm.
Reagon Chapman is self-willed, forcing isn’t going to work, unless she lowers herself and takes the initiative to make peace.
Mia asked herself if she could do that, but the answer was no; she wasn’t in the wrong.
Rather than being mistreated, wasting time, and learning nothing, it’s better to leave.
With this thought, she felt a bit dazed.
After all, she wasn’t someone who backed down from problems. The harder the situation she faced, the more she wanted to tackle it. But the workplace was a different matter. A troublesome boss could definitely make you twice as effective.
Mia breathed a sigh of relief, checked the time on her wrist, and made a decision.
It was eleven fifty.
She casually browsed the web for a while and then went downstairs to eat with several editors from the team.
They were all young women, and dealing with a boss as strong and mean as Reagon Chapman was indeed frustrating for many. After ordering, someone looked at Mia and said, "If I were you, I wouldn’t take this useless trouble."
"Yeah, with your resume, you can go anywhere. The site isn’t anything special."
"The benefits are certainly not as good as those stations."
"Mia Ginger probably doesn’t care about benefits, right?" a girl asked curiously as she ate, cheeks puffed out, "By the way, what were you thinking at the time? Why did you choose the site and social news?"
"A personal reason." Mia replied with a light smile, biting on a straw.
She wanted to join the site because of Zoey Leaf’s situation and the Ginger Family matter, making her feel she wanted to become a website reporter who spoke the truth and spread facts. But suddenly she thought of Camden River.
Camden’s thesis was about online communication, and online harassment is one aspect. He never seemed to consider coming to the site.
A successful journalist certainly has more influence than a successful online journalist.
Thinking of this, Mia was stunned.
Seeing her being absent-minded, a girl eating next to her hesitated and said, "Actually, I know why the team leader targets you."
"Huh?" The others were quite surprised.
The girl looked at Mia, a bit embarrassed, and said, "When we finished work together yesterday afternoon, another team leader asked about it. Sister Chapman said she doesn’t really like pampered young ladies, although she’s encountered you a few times before, and you, um," the girl smiled shyly, "anyway, she says you’re really not suited for this line of work, maybe because you studied abroad and have a more liberal style, you might be more suitable for PR. She’s harsh to train you, but the director misunderstood her, so she’s just tired and doesn’t want to manage you."
"Doesn’t that sound ridiculous? Who trains people like that? She’s clearly targeting you intentionally; interns aren’t just Mia Ginger."
"I never thought Mia was pampered, ugh."
"Sounds better than it actually is."
"Uh, doing PR? Isn’t that an insult?"
