Which obviously meant that the spatial connection was actively working.
He grabbed one of his dirty training shirts off the bed and tossed it right inside the horizontal door frame. The shirt fell inside and completely vanished.
It didn’t hit the bottom of the box at all. It just directly teleported into his dungeon.
Adrian smiled and nodded.
"Okay. It works perfectly outside too."
He sent the wooden test box back into his dungeon inventory. Then he walked out of his room and went to the back of his mansion. He opened his spatial ring and dumped out all one hundred of the doors he made that were attached with the Dungeon Door skill so Cassius’s builders could pick them up in the morning.
Adrian left all of the wooden doors and door frames stacked neatly on the dirt before walking straight back into his mansion.
He went to his bedroom, sat at his table, and immediately started writing multiple letters to his people. There were a lot of minor administrative things left to be done before he inevitably had to leave for the war.
One of those things was setting up a permanent shop in Oresfall for the tailor who helped with Aria’s birthday dress. And there were multiple other minor trade agreements to officially authorize.
It took Adrian almost twenty minutes to write all those letters out in his messy handwriting.
Once he finished he stacked them up and called Damien into the room to hand the letters off to him.
He shut the door right after and finally crashed on his bed.
The long day had completely drained him.
Down the long hallway just a few rooms away, Serena was sitting alone in her dark bedroom.
For the past couple of days since they returned she had barely done anything other than sit exactly where she was currently sitting and meditate. Even right now in the dead of night she was doing the exact same thing.
But it just wasn’t the same.
The experience she had back when Adrian manually helped her circulate her mana was so much more memorable compared to this endless cycle of sitting in total silence and meditating by herself just to see barely any real progress.
It didn’t feel great.
It was almost like she secretly got addicted to the experience of getting a massive and direct boost to her capabilities from him.
She opened her eyes and let out a heavy sigh.
"More than a whole day of continuous meditation and I can barely see a difference," she muttered in the quiet room.
"Maybe... maybe I should go and ask him to help me."
She immediately shook her head.
"No. We just got back. I’m pretty sure he’s incredibly busy with all the management stuff and the war preparations right now."
She leaned backward and dropped fully onto the soft mattress where she was sitting cross legged. She stared up at the dark ceiling.
"If only I could actually go and talk to him normally without any issues. Why the hell do I have to overthink every single time?"
She shook her head against the sheets and shifted toward her pillow before finally closing her eyes.
It was getting super late anyway so it was definitely time to sleep.
Serena woke up pretty slowly the next morning.
She rubbed her face and squinted against the bright light.
She could immediately hear a huge commotion going on outside since her window was left wide open to let the breeze in. She looked toward the window and saw the heavy iron grill. It was a very common theme in Adrian’s Mansion because it provided necessary security so assassins couldn’t jump into a window. At least that was his explanation.
Through the windows, she could hear the loud noises outside on the grounds.
She could hear what sounded like hundreds of soldiers screaming at the top of their lungs.
But it wasn’t out of pain or fear.
It was more like synchronized cheers of awe.
She had a gut feeling something big was happening down there. Maybe something happened that made the army want to celebrate this early in the morning.
Feeling incredibly curious she threw the heavy covers off, got out of bed, and walked over to the window to see what was happening.
And down there she saw something she would absolutely never regret seeing.
There he was.
Adrian was standing right in the middle of the massive dirt training field. The spot wasn’t too far from her window so she had a really good vantage point. She could clearly see him right there in the center.
And he was currently standing right in front of Claire.
Thousands of armored soldiers were closely surrounding the two of them in a massive circle. It was a pretty big open area.
And Adrian was currently standing there completely shirtless.
Serena stared at him while completely frozen in place. Since he was pretty far away she couldn’t really take in the fine details of what she was seeing from the window, but she really wanted to.
So without wasting a single second she rushed out of her room and ran straight down the mansion stairs as fast as she could in her morning dress.
Not even a minute later she was right there at the edge of the dusty training field.
She quickly walked over and the armored soldiers immediately made way for her. After all she was a Duke’s daughter and everyone in Oresfall knew she was here as a VIP guest.
She walked past the guards towards the inner circle.
There she saw that Aria was also there sitting on a wooden barrel. Celeste was there, and Caelum was there too watching intensely. Almost every single core person of the territory was right there watching the two of them.
Serena ignored all of them and looked directly at Adrian.
And this time, the details were right there clearly in front of her. She could see everything really, really clearly.
