Adrian just looked at the system panels and frowned.
"Wait. You are telling me that actual dragons don’t exist in the dungeons of this world? Like, aren’t they even spawned as massive end-game bosses and stuff?"
[There are no True Dragon bosses or True Dragons of any kind spawned inside the known dungeon ecosystems.]
Adrian just sighed and looked at the screen.
"Okay then. What about strong alternatives? Aren’t there other high-level monsters in the catalogue that are just really good at destroying everything?"
[Affirmative. Scouring through the Monster Catalog...]
A few seconds later, the screen shifted and presented a list along with detailed holographic models.
[Option 1: Dragon-Men.]
[Descendants of the ancient Dragon race, but primarily humanoid. They are partial dragons, part dragon and part human. However, they are classified as Monsters. They have highly volatile, chaotic manainside them, and they possess a deeply ingrained, highly aggressive biological urge to go against and slaughter humans.]
Adrian nodded slowly as he looked at the scaly humanoid figure.
"Okay... just like elves then. This definitely works, I guess. He can use this DNA."
He then swiped the screen to look at the other available high-tier options. One of the detailed models was the Great White Tiger, an S-Rank beast known for its blinding speed and wind magic. And the other one was the Flaming Mountain Bull, a massive monster that had a sort of volcano on it’s back.
Adrian just looked at all of these holographic models. There were multiple more A-Rank and S-Rank options down the list.
He decided to quickly just pick the first one, the Dragon-Man, and also the Flaming Mountain Bull, of course.
He didn’t really need to get the whole actual monster created and spawned in the room. He just needed the biological matter for Wang Lei’s weird consumption blessing.
He looked at the system.
"Give me a little bit of raw meat. Spawn around one hundred grams of both the Dragon-Man meat and I also want the Flaming Mountain Bull meat. Maybe the Great White Tiger works too. Yeah, give me that one as well." he said as he changed his mind midway through.
[Affirmative. Calculating mana cost for organic synthesis...]
Not even a tiny fraction of a second later, he immediately saw another red warning message pop up.
[Warning: Due to the extremely high concentration of raw, chaotic manae inside the flesh of these high-tier monsters, the amount of mana that will be consumed from the dungeon reserves to synthesize just 100 grams of meat is 1,000 mana per sample.]
It was extremely pricey. Especially when considering the weight of the meat. Usually, one mana point gave him a whole kilogram of cow meat. Now, a thousand mana gave him just a little bit of A-Rank meat instead.
But Adrian knew that this was a necessary investment for the war, so he didn’t mind the massive cost at all.
He just dismissed the screen and muttered to himself.
"Okay, that doesn’t matter. I have a ton of mana crystals, so just make them for me right now."
[Affirmative. Synthesizing...]
The very next moment, a bright blue light flashed, and there were three small, balls of raw meat sitting directly on a wooden plate right in front of him on the bed.
It was all finely minced meat.
Adrian could easily tell which specific meat was which, because there was a small, convenient holographic label right above each of them, just hovering there.
And right at that exact time, he heard a soft knock on his bedroom door.
He casually used his telekinesis to unlock the latch and pull the door open without moving from his place.
He saw Wang Lei nervously standing there in the hallway.
Adrian gestured with his hand.
"Come inside. It’s time for me to invest some stuff into you."
Wang Lei walked inside the large room, looking slightly intimidated by the stuff around him but he did his best to hide it. He looked directly at the plate on Adrian’s desk.
"Are you... are you going to give me raw monster meat?"
Adrian nodded.
"Well, I am. But shut the door first."
Wang Lei nodded quickly and closed the door behind him before he carefully walked over.
Adrian just casually snapped his fingers, and a wooden chair immediately slid out from the desk and came to a stop right in front of the bed.
Wang Lei sat down nervously.
Adrian pushed the wooden plate with the three balls of premium, top rank meat across the desk.
Wang Lei just looked closely at the three piles of minced meat balls one by one. His system immediately scanned Adrian’s Balls and he stared at the balls for a long minute in silence.
And then he just looked back up at Adrian with a highly disappointed, yet awkward expression.
"Um. My System says that the base level of these specific monsters... the levels of these monsters are way, way above what my body can currently safely absorb. So I cannot consume them right now."
He rubbed the back of his neck.
"My ability level is still firmly stuck at Level 1. I have a maximum potential of Ten Stars in my system, but currently, I’m only at the First Star tier. If I eat this, my organs will probably explode."
Adrian just looked at him with a flat, deadpan stare.
"Wait. You’re just... so there is a huge, hard limit on your blessing at this moment?"
Wang Lei nodded sheepishly.
"Looks exactly like it. And I honestly didn’t think that the level cap would be this bad. But hey, I was pretty damn strong even with just the low-level combination of monsters that I used in the past when I fought with that knight lady of yours."
Adrian just leaned back in his chair.
"Well. I guess you’re technically not wrong. But she kind of just mercilessly beat you up like crazy though. I don’t think you even landed a single solid hit on Sigrid during that entire fight."
Wang Lei just let out an incredibly embarrassed, fake cough into his fist and looked away.
"Well... let’s just not talk about that specific fight."
