The fortified castle of Fort Valiant guards the Valiant Pass, which leads to the kingdom of Seaside. Despite the heavy tolls, it is the only reasonably safe pass connecting the coastal kingdom to Faraway.
A wall blocks access to the pass, screening merchants through two large gates: one for arrivals and one for departures. Opposite the castle from the road, a small village dotted with caravanserais welcomes travelers.
