"These are things we will have to face sooner or later, better to adapt quickly." Yin Yang looked at Yin Chuchu calmly and helped Xu Mumu smash the zombie skulls together.
So many zombies, yet only got two crystal cores.
Yin Yang ordered to wash the crystal cores clean. Looking at the crystal cores in his hand, they were as clear as diamonds, and he could even feel his superpower stirring, wanting to devour the energy inside.
"Mumu, keep them." Yin Yang said to Xu Mumu.
Xu Mumu nodded and put away the two crystal cores.
Other members of the Yin Family glanced more at Xu Mumu. To them, Xu Mumu was just an outsider, but under Yin Yang’s stern gaze, the words they wanted to say were swallowed back.
After putting the crystal cores away, Xu Mumu stored them in her space. On the way to the First Hospital, zombies were everywhere, and she even heard gunshots.
Sure enough, they hadn’t gone far when they saw soldiers clearing zombies in the Imperial City.
The leader was slightly surprised to see Yin Yang and his group.
Since the apocalypse began, the world has been chaotic, with zombies everywhere. It’s only the third day, and few dare to come out. If they encounter zombies, they run away in fear and scream.
The loud shouting always attracts a large number of zombies, and if rescue doesn’t arrive in time, it’s easy to get bitten and turned into a zombie.
There are those bitten by zombies who awaken superpowers, but less than one percent.
"It’s very dangerous outside, be careful." The leader still cautioned Yin Yang and his group, noticing their somewhat inexperienced way of killing zombies, his eyes filled with admiration.
"We will, thank you for the warning." Yin Yang nodded.
"Why are you out here? Are food supplies running low? Supermarkets outside are now under national control, they’re temporarily safe, but items inside are more expensive." The leader added.
"We’ll remember that." Yin Yang nodded seriously, impressed by the nation’s swift control of resources, which was indeed a positive development.
After separating from the soldiers, Xu Mumu continued killing zombies, her moves crisp and efficient, usually dealing with them in one blow.
Yin Chuchu felt much better now, no longer vomiting.
Yin Chuchu had learned taekwondo, so after the initial panic, she adapted and, coordinating with her brothers, killed quite a few zombies.
By the time they reached the First Hospital, it was almost noon.
"Zombies are most plentiful inside the hospital. Let’s rest here, eat something, then proceed," Xu Mumu wiped the sweat from her forehead. Awakening Ice Element abilities had greatly enhanced her tolerance to heat, though it was still very hot.
Yin Chuchu and the others were in worse shape, some were already exhausted, their condition not very good.
Xu Mumu took out food from her bag to share with them, then sat next to Yin Yang, nibbling on a meat pie.
"It smells awful here, I don’t feel like eating." Yin Chuchu downed half a bottle of water, then used her superpower to refill it.
Looking at the pie in her hands, she lacked appetite.
"Eat quickly, if you don’t eat enough, you won’t have the strength to fight zombies later." Yin Lin started eating, having starved after a morning of zombie killing, no longer bothered by the outdoor stench.
Yin Chuchu obediently ate, her cousin was right, she was also very hungry now. Miss Yin had never suffered like this since childhood.
While eating the pie, she suppressed the bitterness in her heart. Determined to become stronger, she vowed to eradicate all zombies, they were so annoying and really interfered with dining.
After finishing the pie and resting for a while, once everyone was refreshed, Yin Yang led them toward the hospital.
Zombie clusters around the hospital made the group’ scalp tingle.
"Cousin, there are so many zombies, can we really fight our way in?" A young member of the extended family, Yin Meng, murmured, doubtful seeing so many zombies, despite having killed many en route.
"Yes, this hospital has the most complete medication, and recently received a batch of good equipment." Yin Yang remarked casually, particularly interested in the equipment for bringing home, as his future wife might need them for childbirth. The family had doctors, but lacked equipment.
Yin Yang’s words left others silent because in this apocalypse, no one could guarantee they wouldn’t get sick or injured. Without medication, minor ailments were fine, but serious cases could be fatal, making this trip essential.
The current zombies are high-level, but not troublesome, as Xu Mumu easily handled them with her blade, each strike dealing with one, contributing to half of the team’s killings with Yin Yang.
Together, the two powerful fighters paved a path to the hospital, zombies strewn everywhere, leaving no time to dig for crystal cores.
Inside the hospital, there were even more zombies. Though spacious, the abundance of zombies made it crowded, hindering their attacks.
The group kept hacking zombies, and during this, some even broke their machetes.
Yin Yang and his siblings wielded weapons Xu Mumu had prepared from her space: Tang Blades and swords. Only Yin Chuchu chose a sword, while Yin Lin and Yin Yang preferred Tang Blades.
Others used either machetes or iron rods, unable to immediately sever zombie heads, requiring someone’s assistance to finish them.
"Brother, where did you get this sword? It’s great, so fast, can decapitate instantly. Must sharpen it well later, can’t let the blade dull." Yin Chuchu said excitedly, looking at others’ broken machetes, feeling grateful for her prepared brother.
"Bought from an antique shop. If you want one, after moving the equipment, we’ll visit the shop tomorrow." Yin Yang addressed other envious members of the Yin Family.
Others quickly agreed, eager for such a sharp weapon since iron rods and machetes proved cumbersome, especially machetes, being unendurable.
With machetes now broken, they resorted to randomly picked wooden sticks. Outside, finding an iron rod was impossible, a real frustration.
