The Big Black Snake raised its head haughtily, looking at Little Huo as if doing him a favor.

The group had been exhausted after a whole day’s work, and fell asleep quickly, disregarding the need for a watch, since they had the Big Black Snake.
During the day while they were fighting zombies, quite a few people saw them, and so many mutant animals. As long as those people didn’t cause them any trouble, they would be fine.
That night, Xu Mumu slept very soundly. The next morning, she woke up feeling a bit sore all over. Yesterday’s exertion was above her limits. If it weren’t for her superpower, she’d have muscle strains.
After a brief meal, the group set off again. They didn’t plan to go overboard today. The bloody clothes in the space were of no use now.
As they traveled, with these mutant animals around, it was like a swarm of locusts passing by. Zombies in the vicinity were dealt with by the mutant animals. After their superpowers had upgraded, they became fiercer.
By noon, they finally reached the highway. Here, many vehicles were parked haphazardly, and some were speeding by. People who saw Xu Mumu’s group, with their intimidating mutant animals, quickly sped away.
"Brother, how far is it to the chicken farm?" Yin Chuchu asked while nibbling on a biscuit, looking at Yin Yang.
"At our current pace, it will still take three to four more days." Yin Yang checked the map.
"Walking is so slow. If we took a car, it would only take two or three days, right?" Yin Chuchu gazed at the road ahead, still spotting some zombies.
Having rested enough, the group set off again.
Before they got far, a group of people approached, looking somewhat disheveled, likely having just escaped a zombie chase.
"Comrades, are you all alright? Are these mutant animals?" A woman at the front strutted over in high heels, mainly captivated by how good-looking Yin Yang was. Moreover, these mutant animals didn’t harm them and seemed obedient, stirring some thoughts in her.
"What’s up?" Yin Yang was somewhat impatient; they were eager to get to the chicken farm.
"We wanted to inquire about something, wondering if you might have some time?" Zhou Wen smiled at Yin Yang. Despite the apocalypse, this attractive man was still fashionably dressed, either quite capable or of some standing at home.
"What’s the matter?" Yin Yang asked coolly, his gaze scanning over them, seeing they posed no threat.
"We want to know about the situation in the Imperial City, as we’re planning to head there for refuge," Zhou Wen said with a composed smile.
"The Imperial City is currently undergoing post-disaster reconstruction. There are no zombies inside, you can head straight over," Yin Yang answered.
"Thank you, sir."
Yin Yang’s words instantly brightened the eyes of the people in the group. They thought they would go to the Imperial City since it was the nation’s capital. Fortunately, it was now safe inside as long as they could get in.
Hearing this, many felt a surge of excitement, eager to rush to the Imperial City as soon as possible.
"Sir, where are you headed? We’re unfamiliar with the Imperial City. Could you guide us?" Zhou Wen looked at Yin Yang expectantly. She was smitten with this man.
"Sorry, we’re busy. You mean you’ve come this far and can’t find the Imperial City?" Yin Yang scoffed and led Xu Mumu and the others away.
Leaving behind a somewhat displeased Zhou Wen. The men she set her sights on never escaped. Since they were so familiar with the Imperial City, they surely were from there. Once at the Imperial City, she was determined to inquire further. After all, men as good-looking as him were rare.
Seeing that group not following, Xu Mumu didn’t give them much thought. It was more important to get to the chicken farm now.
By evening, Xu Mumu’s group chose to spend the night by the highway. With some vehicles nearby and zombies already dealt with, they made do with a night in the cars.
Beside the highway, there was a not-so-large river, with water that was also black.
The roadside at night was eerily quiet, even breathing sounded especially loud.
Taking out the Reincarnation Jade, Xu Mumu let its gentle glow illuminate as she and Yin Yang moved aside.
Looking at her son’s face appearing on the Reincarnation Jade’s screen, Xu Mumu’s lips curved up slightly. Doudou was living well in another world. The two little ones were still slumbering in the jade. Once it was safe, she’d bring them forth.
"Mom, you’re spending the night outside?" Yin Si looked at Xu Mumu’s surroundings, seeing the mountains and dense vegetation.
"Yes, we’re out searching for some things," Xu Mumu replied gently.
"It’s dangerous outside, especially at night." The young man’s lips pursed slightly.
"Don’t worry, we’re fine. We brought quite a few people and found some powerful mutant animals." Xu Mumu briefly recounted what happened at the zoo, leaving the youth in the video astonished.
"Mom, you guys are incredible." Yin Si couldn’t help but smile; they really were living on the edge.
"We’re managing. How are your great-grandparents doing? Are they still in good health?" After several days without contact, Xu Mumu was starting to miss them.
"They’re fine, leisurely going for walks and reading books. Knowing you’re safe, they have nothing to worry about," Yin Si gently reassured.
If it weren’t for needing to care for the elders, he’d want to go to that world with his parents to help if he could.
He felt entirely useless here, praying in his heart for their safety.
"As long as they’re good. How’s work treating you? Anyone giving you a hard time at the company? Is the job exhausting?" She couldn’t help but focus on her son’s wellbeing.
"Everything’s fine. The people Dad left behind have been really supportive, helping me a lot," Yin Si replied with a soft smile.
"It’s their duty to help you," Yin Yang remarked calmly.
"Mm, Dad, make sure you protect Mom." Yin Si earnestly looked at Yin Yang.
