Chapter 504 - 321: Impersonation

"Tell my fortune too," Su Ze said, holding out his hand.

Mr. Ya used his Danger Warning skill to do a reading for Su Ze as well. The result was the same: no danger.

A great deal of information could actually be inferred from these two readings.

The reading for Su Ze showed no danger, which meant there were no powerhouses in the Filth Earth Organization’s Desolate Mountain stronghold capable of threatening him.

When Mr. Ya came alone last time, his skill had warned him of danger. This time, coming with Su Ze, there was no danger. This indicated that the powerhouse in the stronghold was stronger than Mr. Ya, but weaker than Su Ze.

In other words, a Venerable Powerhouse was likely stationed inside the stronghold.

Under normal circumstances, a single Venerable Powerhouse wouldn’t be a threat to Mr. Ya. Therefore, there was likely more than one Venerable Powerhouse in the Desolate Mountain stronghold, or they possessed some special means that specifically countered Mr. Ya.

In any case, it didn’t matter how many Venerable Powerhouses there were. To the current Su Ze, none of them posed a threat. He could waltz right through.

"Boss, are we going to sneak in now?" Seeing there was no danger, Mr. Ya couldn’t help but ask.

Su Ze shook his head. "You sensed danger when you came alone last time. What does that tell you?"

Mr. Ya thought for a moment before grasping Su Ze’s meaning. "That I’d be discovered if I tried to sneak in?"

If he wasn’t going to be discovered, there wouldn’t have been any danger.

"Exactly. If even you would be exposed trying to sneak in, then I have no hope at all. If the two of us go in now, we’ll definitely be discovered. At that point, we’d either have to wipe out this entire Filth Earth Organization stronghold or turn tail and run. Either way, we’d tip them off."

Destroying this stronghold wasn’t their main objective. Su Ze just wanted to find Pulamon and get the puzzle piece he was holding.

Barging into the stronghold now would disrupt his plans, unless Pulamon just so happened to be inside.

"So what’s the plan?" Mr. Ya asked.

"We wait. We’ll just stay out here and wait. The people in the stronghold have to come and go eventually. When a suitable target comes out, we’ll grab them, take their identity, and slip inside."

"Alright."

And so, the two of them began their remote surveillance from outside the Desolate Mountain.

Su Ze had the Eye of Truth skill, so he could easily envelop the entire Desolate Mountain with his Perception Tentacles. He would notice if so much as a fly went in or out.

At the same time, his Perception Tentacles delved into the interior of the Desolate Mountain, pinpointing the Filth Earth Organization’s exact location and getting a grasp of the situation inside.

’There are three Venerable Powerhouses in the stronghold, but no Pulamon. Huh? They even have a spiritual communication base station...’

Su Ze discovered a human head bristling with all sorts of wires connected to various instruments. The head wasn’t dead; it was still alive, but it seemed to lack any self-awareness. The sight was familiar to him.

This was clearly a spiritual communication base station made from the head of a Spiritual Venerable.

’It seems this place isn’t just an ordinary stronghold. It’s likely the Filth Earth Organization’s main headquarters on the Lin Hua Continent.’

The Filth Earth Organization was a major power that spanned three continents. Its main headquarters was rumored to be in the wilderness, but the organization had members—the "Defiled"—from the Lin Hua, Snowfield, and Flame Emperor Continents. Since they were active on all three, each continent was bound to have its own "branch."

This stronghold, hidden inside the Desolate Mountain, not only had three Venerable Powerhouses guarding it but also housed a base station made from the skull of a Spiritual Venerable. With a setup like this, it had to be the Filth Earth Organization’s headquarters for the Lin Hua Continent.

Furthermore, the stronghold was considerable in both its size and the number of personnel inside.

It wasn’t surprising that he hadn’t found Pulamon here. As a black man, Pulamon was most likely active on the Flame Emperor Continent.

Even if a conflict were to break out between the Ancient An Country and the Lin Hua Country, Su Ze wasn’t sure if Pulamon would be dispatched to support the An Country.

If Pulamon didn’t come, Su Ze would have no choice but to go find him, which might even mean a trip to the Flame Emperor Continent.

Su Ze continued to probe the stronghold within the Desolate Mountain. Roughly a hundred of the Defiled were gathered inside, including five or six Overlord-level members.

Suddenly, a strange smile touched the corners of his lips. "So he’s here too. It must be fate."

"What is it, Boss?" Mr. Ya asked, curious.

"I see an old acquaintance."

Su Ze hadn’t expected to see Bai Guishou here.

The last time Bai Guishou had died right in front of him, Su Ze had merely suspected the man had a way to resurrect himself. He never thought he’d actually be right.

All told, Bai Guishou had now died in front of him twice, and both times, he had come back to life.

’If I kill him this time, I wonder if he can resurrect again?’

’Probably not...’ Su Ze could clearly sense that Bai Guishou’s aura was much weaker now; he no longer possessed his former strength.

At that moment, Bai Guishou was in a storeroom, holding a file and checking the inventory.

’Did he get demoted to a stock boy?’

Su Ze suspected it was because he had leaked Bai Guishou’s entire contact list to the Filth Earth Organization’s group chat last time. That must have led to his superiors giving him a hard time.

Otherwise, a dignified elder of the Filth Earth Organization, even if his strength had fallen, would only be in a temporary state. He would never be reduced to working as a storeroom manager.

...

Su Ze and Mr. Ya waited quietly outside the Desolate Mountain for a full day and night. As it turned out, not a single person came in or out during that entire time.

However, after the long observation period, Su Ze had a crystal-clear understanding of the situation inside the stronghold.

He discovered that the Spiritual Venerable’s head also functioned as a "radar," sensing the movements of all personnel within the stronghold and feeding the data to a screen.
