Chapter 508 - 322: Legendary Battle

The Sovereign Country’s sudden summons of Ancient An Country’s Saint Envoy, combined with a few clues from before, made the higher-ups in both Ancient An Country and the Filth Earth Organization sense that something was amiss.

Ancient An Country and the Filth Earth Organization had been colluding for years. It was impossible for Ancient An Country’s Saint Envoy not to know, yet he had never reported it to the Sovereign Country. The only possibility was that he was also involved.

Now, the Saint Envoy from Ancient An Country had to carefully consider whether to go or not.

If he went, he would likely be walking right into a trap.

Saint Envoys were all Venerable Powerhouses. Neither the Filth Earth Organization nor Ancient An Country could afford to simply sacrifice a Venerable Powerhouse for nothing.

But if he didn’t go, it would be an open act of defiance against the Sovereign Country. A Saint Envoy’s purpose, after all, was to be the Sovereign Country’s agent monitoring Ancient An Country. He was supposed to obey the Sovereign Country’s orders unconditionally. Defying a direct command would only prompt the Sovereign Country to take immediate action.

In the end, the Saint Envoy from Ancient An Country chose to stall. Employing delaying tactics, he claimed that the borders of Ancient An Country were under attack by mutant beasts and that he would head to the Sovereign Country in two days, after dealing with the matter at hand.

The Sovereign Country didn’t respond to this, but Su Ze learned from Chen Suifeng that they were already preparing to strike directly at Ancient An Country.

For a battle of this level, there was no need to mobilize a massive army; sending in their top-tier fighters would be enough.

After all, it wasn’t as if the entire nation of Ancient An Country had defected to the Filth Earth Organization. It was merely a case of corruption in the upper echelons; the common people and even the soldiers at the bottom were unaware.

The Sovereign Country only needed to eliminate Ancient An Country’s leadership and install loyal subordinates to take over. Then, they could bring the nation back under their control.

Su Ze even heard from Chen Suifeng that the Alien Party intended to use this incident as an opportunity to annex Ancient An Country into Lin Hua Country.

However, this idea was met with opposition from the Blue Star Party. Moreover, it was certain that even if the Filth Earth Organization was driven out of Ancient An Country, its people would never agree to be annexed by Lin Hua Country.

After all, the great migration of the Peninsula Country’s people hadn’t set a good precedent. The miserable fate of the Peninsula Country refugees was known throughout the entire Lin Hua Continent, and even now, many refugees were still stranded in Mu Country.

The Sovereign Country had failed to fulfill its initial promise to establish an autonomous region for the Peninsula people within Lin Hua Country and resettle the refugees there. Instead, they had broken up the large refugee population, sending them to be settled in various countries all over the Lin Hua Continent.

This led many people online to joke: "The people of Peninsula Country always used to say the entire Lin Hua Continent belonged to them. Well, now they belong to the entire Lin Hua Continent."

But jokes aside, the incident had indeed caused widespread discontent among the people of the Lin Hua Continent and had severely damaged the Lin Hua government’s credibility.

Returning to the main topic, according to Chen Suifeng, the operation against Ancient An Country had been led by the Alien Party from the start. They were serving as the main force, while the Blue Star Party had merely sent a few powerhouses along to fill the numbers.

And this time, it was said that the leader of the Alien Party, the Sovereign of Lin Hua Continent himself, Jiang Pingle, would personally lead the team. He had also specifically requested that another Legendary Powerhouse, Deng Sui, accompany him.

In other words, two Legendary Powerhouses would be deployed this time. It was clear that Lin Hua Country was finally getting serious.

The Filth Earth Organization currently only had a few Venerable Powerhouses stationed on the Lin Hua Continent and certainly couldn’t contend with Legendary Powerhouses. They knew this themselves, which was why Ancient An Country’s Saint Envoy had proposed reporting for duty at the Sovereign Country in two days. His goal was to buy time and wait for reinforcements from the Filth Earth Organization Headquarters.

But the Alien Party clearly had no intention of giving them that time and was preparing to strike immediately.

The situation quietly grew tense. However, the common people of Ancient An Country couldn’t sense this shift, and everything seemed as calm as ever.

But Su Ze, disguised as Bai Guishou, could clearly feel the change in atmosphere within the Filth Earth Organization’s stronghold. The panic hidden beneath the oppressive silence was not hard to detect.

Everyone in the stronghold was on edge, terrified that Lin Hua Country’s Legendary Powerhouses would attack at any moment and that their own reinforcements wouldn’t arrive in time.

Su Ze, however, had little to worry about. His only concern was that Pulamon might not come.

He leaned back leisurely in his recliner, rocking slowly. Just then, Bai Guishou’s phone suddenly received a text message.

It was a message from Mr. Kang: "Gather all the second-rank and higher resources in the warehouse immediately, put them into a storage artifact, and prepare the inventory list. I’ll send someone to pick them up later."

Su Ze replied, "Roger!"

This Mr. Kang was Bai Guishou’s superior, the one saved in his contact list as ’Kang,’ and also one of the three Venerable Powerhouses stationed at the stronghold.

’Looks like Mr. Kang and the other higher-ups are getting worried, packing everything up in advance. Are they getting ready to bolt at a moment’s notice?’

Su Ze didn’t read too much into Mr. Kang’s actions. When facing a crisis, taking early measures to protect one’s assets was a normal thing to do.

He grabbed a handful of storage artifacts and began collecting the supplies. Before long, he had sorted and packed up all the second-rank and higher items in the warehouse and had located the inventory list in the office.

A short while later, a young man with delicate features came to the warehouse. If he didn’t reek so badly, Su Ze might have even complimented him on not being ugly.

There was no helping it; the entire stronghold was a concentration camp for "stinkers." Even though Su Ze had narrowed the range of his sense of smell and was hiding in the warehouse, he could still faintly smell the stench from outside.

Fortunately, The Tainted couldn’t smell the stench on each other. It was precisely for this reason that Su Ze, who didn’t have that foul odor, hadn’t been discovered.

"Mr. Bai." The young man was quite respectful toward Su Ze. "Mr. Kang sent me to get the items."
