Su Ze landed in the woods and saw Pulamon, who could now be considered one of his avatars.
However, he was different from a typical avatar. Pulamon still possessed an independent life, complete with his own soul and memories. Only his brain and consciousness were under Su Ze’s control.
It was as if Su Ze had sent out an avatar to take control of Pulamon.
The downside was that, unlike with his own avatars, Su Ze couldn’t share all of Pulamon’s experiences in real-time, including his senses and field of vision.
The upside was that Pulamon retained his complete memories, which Su Ze could access. This also made it easier for Su Ze to impersonate him if needed.
To be precise, it wasn’t truly an impersonation. Pulamon was, in fact, still alive. He was simply continuing to live under his own identity, with his actions now influenced by Su Ze.
Another advantage was the lack of a distance limit.
The avatars Su Ze created himself had a distance restriction; they couldn’t stray too far from him.
But with Pulamon, no such limit existed. The distance between them didn’t matter.
This was similar to the Pope and his avatars. The Pope had countless avatars scattered across the world, and distance never severed their connection.
However, at great distances, the control was less precise.
When they were close, like now, Su Ze could control Pulamon in real-time and access all his information. But once they were too far apart, he would have to rely on the consciousness he’d left inside Pulamon’s body to maintain control.
He wouldn’t be able to know what Pulamon was experiencing or doing.
Only when Pulamon drew near again could Su Ze reconnect with his consciousness inside Pulamon and retrieve his memories.
In short, he had gained a genuine Legendary-tier heavy hitter.
That alone was a huge score.
Just then, the duration of Su Ze’s Bloodthirsty skill ran out. He didn’t bother hunting the mutant beasts in the woods to extend it, as the battle was already over.
Besides, with Pulamon as his bodyguard, he had no fear even if another Legendary-tier expert came looking for trouble.
As soon as the Bloodthirsty skill’s duration ended, Su Ze’s power rapidly waned, leaving a large amount of residual blood and flesh energy accumulated in his body. Normally, this energy would have quickly dissipated along with the skill’s effects.
This time, however, Su Ze’s palm grew hot. He looked down at the ’Weapon Seed,’ which had shrunk to the size of a grain in his palm, and felt a sense of longing from it.
A thought occurred to Su Ze.
’You want to absorb it?’
He immediately guided the blood and flesh energy that was about to dissipate from his body, channeling it into the Weapon Seed.
And the Weapon Seed actually began to absorb it!
This was an immense amount of energy, accumulated from the many Supremes and one Legendary-tier expert Su Ze had killed. Although he had consumed a great deal of it, a significant amount remained.
It was worth noting that no extracts could be drawn from the corpses of evolutionaries, mutant beasts, or Spiritual Plants that had been consumed by the Bloodthirsty skill.
In other words, this blood and flesh energy was a conversion of the Evolutionary Material, evolutionary power, and various other energies from within those powerful beings.
Yet, faced with this immense power, the Weapon Seed was like a bottomless pit, greedily absorbing everything without reservation.
Su Ze was overjoyed. This blood and flesh energy would have dissipated anyway; the Weapon Seed absorbing it was a perfect way to recycle waste.
He recalled the Mother Tree mentioning that the Weapon Seed had the potential to grow, but the energy required was so immense that even the Mother Tree’s master had hesitated to continue cultivating it, as the cost would likely outweigh the benefits.
Su Ze, however, had no such concerns. In the future, he could feed all the blood and flesh energy obtained through his Bloodthirsty skill to the Weapon Seed.
A few moments later, the vast amount of blood and flesh energy had been completely absorbed by the Weapon Seed.
Yet the tiny seed showed no visible change. Clearly, this amount of energy wasn’t enough to make it ’level up’.
Su Ze returned to his normal size and put away the Weapon Seed. He walked over to Pulamon and removed the Storage Ring from his hand.
BLECH... Su Ze gagged.
’This bodyguard is great and all, but he stinks. It’s nauseating.’
Keeping his distance from Pulamon, Su Ze finally began to inspect the man’s storage item. Perhaps because he had only recently become a Legendary-tier expert, Pulamon’s wealth didn’t quite match his status.
He might have spent most of his fortune trying to break through to the Legendary tier, leaving the contents of his Storage Ring with a value comparable to the Supremes Su Ze had killed.
Su Ze wasn’t in the mood to take a full inventory of his spoils. He quickly scanned the Storage Space, searching for only one thing: the third puzzle piece!
He could have read Pulamon’s mind to find the puzzle piece’s location, but sifting through such vast memories to find one specific piece of information would be time-consuming. It was far simpler to just search the Storage Ring.
A moment later, Su Ze’s eyes lit up. A bluestone puzzle piece appeared in his hand.
The third puzzle piece was his!
Su Ze breathed a sigh of relief. ’Good...’ He had been worried that Pulamon might have given the piece to someone else or left it at the Filth Earth Organization Headquarters. That would have been a real hassle.
He had now collected three of the four puzzle pieces. Su Ze was only one piece away from being able to open the core inheritance!
Su Ze had already scheduled his expedition to the mysterious inheritance. He planned to rest briefly and then set out immediately.
He thought that the fourth puzzle piece might still be inside the inheritance, unclaimed. However, he would have to enter the inner Inheritance Space and check the status of the Inheritance Treasure Vault to be certain.
Of course, before he left, he still needed to take care of a few loose ends.
