Chapter 527 - 327: Four Puzzle Pieces (2)

Besides taking stock of his recent gains, the more important matter was figuring out how to deal with Pulamon.

’Should I keep him by my side as a bodyguard, or send him back to the Filth Earth Organization to fend for himself?’

Just then, Mr. Ya finally arrived.

He wasn’t too surprised to see Pulamon, as Su Ze had already mentioned it to him. He knew that Pulamon had now become Su Ze’s subordinate.

"Have you collected all those bodies?" Su Ze asked.

Mr. Ya nodded repeatedly. "They’re all packed in the Storage Ring."

While his identity was concealed, Su Ze had killed five Overlords and two Supremes from Lin Hua Country—a total of seven powerhouses.

Among these seven, four were confirmed to have been possessed by a Thought Race Divine Spirit, and the remaining three were also highly suspicious.

Anyone possessed by a Thought Race Divine Spirit was guaranteed to have a Bloodline Crystal inside them.

So, as Su Ze killed the seven, he collected their bodies whenever possible. If he missed one and the corpse fell to the ground, he had Mr. Ya retrieve it later.

So, they had managed to collect all seven bodies. If they were lucky, they might get seven Bloodline Crystals out of it!

"Let’s go. We need to find a safe, deserted place to properly go over this haul." Su Ze gestured to Mr. Ya, and the two of them, with Pulamon in tow, vanished deep into the forest.

Su Ze also needed a place where he could spend some time sifting through Pulamon’s memories for any useful information.

...

「Outside Ancient An Country, within the Lianshui Rainforest.」

In the abandoned stronghold of the Evolution Divine Teachings, Su Ze and Mr. Ya laid out the bodies of the seven powerhouses from Lin Hua Country in a row.

Some of the seven were headless, others were missing limbs, and two had been smashed into paste by Su Ze.

Now, they just had to wait for the Bloodline Crystals to emerge from the bodies.

This abandoned stronghold was the exact same place where Su Ze had rescued a large number of refugees from the Peninsula Country. The members of the Evolution Divine Teachings had long since withdrawn. The place had clearly been ransacked, likely by officials from the Lin Hua Continent who had come to investigate.

For Su Ze, it was now a quiet and well-hidden hideout. No one would wander this way without a good reason.

Su Ze didn’t just stand around waiting for the Bloodline Crystals to emerge. He started by dumping out all the loot he had acquired.

This was the loot he had plundered from the powerhouses he killed, including the contents of Pulamon’s Storage Ring. As for the Pope, he had only been a clone; killing him yielded nothing.

A quick glance revealed the most valuable items to be a few Tier 5 Wondrous Items. Nothing else was really worth his attention.

After clearing out the worthless junk as usual, Su Ze let Mr. Ya take his pick of the items. He planned to let Mrs. Yun and Liou Wenxin choose from the remainder next, followed by the Li Min Association. Whatever was left after that would be sold.

This would likely be his standard procedure for handling loot from now on.

As his strength grew, fewer and fewer of the spoils he collected were useful to him.

Even the points from Evolutionary Technology were not very useful to him; they were more of just a number.

The Tier 7 extracts he needed were impossible to buy. Even in the Evolution Technology Headquarters Treasure Vault, the most valuable items were merely a few Tier 6 Wondrous Items.

In reality, Su Ze’s combat style had never relied heavily on Wondrous Items, and he rarely used the few he owned. For now, a single Tier 6 weapon-type Wondrous Item was sufficient. A few more Tier 6 items wouldn’t necessarily be a significant upgrade for him.

After Mr. Ya had chosen the items he needed, Su Ze found an empty storage item and packed away the rest.

The only thing he kept for himself was a Tier 5 Wondrous Item called "Bathed in Fire Feathers." It was a gorgeous, fiery-red feather.

This Wondrous Item’s only function was to create fire.

And Su Ze kept it precisely to "create fire"—or more accurately, to provide flame energy for his Impact Cannon skill.

His Impact Cannon skill could absorb all sorts of abilities and materials, but Su Ze himself could only supply it with electricity. Absorbing other forms of energy or matter depended entirely on his surroundings and his opponents’ skills.

Sometimes, the Electric Current Cannon wasn’t the best tool for the job, and he might need something like a Flame Cannon or a Water Jet Cannon instead.

’I should collect more Wondrous Items like Bathed in Fire Feathers,’ Su Ze thought. ’I need to gather different energy types to give my Impact Cannon more options.’

After sorting through the loot, Su Ze began to go through Pulamon’s memories.

Pulamon was over eighty years old, having lived longer than Su Ze’s two lifetimes combined, and his memories were incredibly complex and vast.

If Su Ze tried to absorb everything wholesale, the impact of nearly a century of memories might cause his own sense of self to fracture.

So he could only pick out the parts that were useful to him.

Most of a person’s life is filled with trivial memories, neither valuable nor interesting. Because these memories are meaningless, they aren’t particularly memorable.

For example, what you ate for breakfast one morning long ago, or the face of a plain-looking stranger you passed on the way to work...

Ordinary people tend to completely forget these memories as time passes.

But Pulamon, being an Evolver, had a powerful memory that allowed him to retain impressions of many such trivial moments.

This made the task of sifting through them that much more immense. It led Su Ze to abandon the idea of organizing all the valuable parts of Pulamon’s memory. Instead, he opted for a query-like approach, directly seeking the information he was most interested in.
