Chapter 532 - 329: The Tainted Are a Racial Cancer

Actually, it wasn’t entirely impossible to deduce the skill contained within this Moon God-grade Bloodline Crystal.

There was a simple, if crude, method. Su Ze knew the Moon God-grade Bloodline Crystal had come from Wei Hanxian, the Minister of Defense for Lin Hua Country. All he had to do was inquire about Wei Hanxian’s signature skills; that would almost certainly reveal the nature of the skill contained within the crystal.

Su Ze put the Moon God-grade Bloodline Crystal away by itself. After marking the four remaining Star God-grade Bloodline Crystals, he stored them as well. He had no use for them, but he could give them to Mr. Ya and Mrs. Yun to absorb.

Su Ze couldn’t help but feel a pang of emotion. He was now starting to look down on the very Bloodline Crystals he had once treasured.

He wasn’t even very satisfied with this Moon God-grade Bloodline Crystal.

With that, the spoils from the battle were mostly accounted for.

The greatest spoils were another puzzle piece and the acquisition of Pulamon, a Legendary-level combatant.

Compared to those, the massive haul of valuable, high-tier resources—and even the five Bloodline Crystals—didn’t seem so impressive.

Pulamon had been dispatched by Su Ze and had yet to return. While he and Mr. Ya waited at the stronghold, Su Ze, with nothing better to do, struck up another conversation with Mu Wang.

He had grown quite fond of chatting with Mu Wang lately. To be more precise, Mu Wang was his personal "universal encyclopedia." Their conversations always followed the same pattern: Su Ze would ask the questions, and Mu Wang would provide the answers.

Even the most basic, common knowledge about the universe that Mu Wang casually revealed was practical, new information to Su Ze.

For instance, his experience with Pulamon had piqued his curiosity about the group known as "Defilers."

"So, Defilers gain an extra power boost by continuously absorbing extracts from their own kind?" Su Ze asked curiously.

"That’s right. For them, absorbing extracts from their own kind doesn’t just make them stronger; it also lowers the difficulty of their subsequent evolution. That’s why, even though Defilers are universally hunted across the cosmos, many people still can’t resist the temptation and willingly become one.

"Many whose evolutionary paths are blocked and prospects are bleak will try to become Defilers, attempting to leverage their unique advantages to break through their current biological limitations.

"Across the universe, Defilers are also known as ’Race Traitors.’ They stand in opposition to their own people and are cast out. Once you become a Defiler, there’s no turning back; you have to see that path through to the end."

Su Ze thought of the Gu’an Saint Envoy. He had probably joined the Filth Earth Organization and become a Defiler precisely to break through his current evolutionary stage.

And it had apparently worked; the Gu’an Saint Envoy was now just one step away from his sixth evolution.

"What’s the principle behind it?" Su Ze pressed.

"Who knows. Maybe they’re like shit—the stinkier they are, the more powerful they become."

Clearly, this was a blind spot in Mu Wang’s knowledge.

Su Ze scoffed. "Sounds like someone didn’t pay attention in class as a kid."

Mu Wang grew indignant. "Some high-level knowledge was simply beyond my reach!"

As if to prove he knew plenty, he added, "Defilers are the ’malignant tumors’ of their people. I know of many races throughout the universe that met their end simply because an exceptionally powerful Defiler emerged from their ranks! When the strongest member of a race is a Defiler, that race is not far from extinction!"

"Why is that?" Su Ze asked, confused.

’Defilers posed such a massive threat?’

’A single powerful Defiler could lead to the extinction of an entire race?’

’That didn’t seem to make sense. No matter how powerful Defilers became, they only hunted members of their own race who were stronger than them. How could that lead to the entire race’s destruction?’

Unfortunately, Mu Wang only knew the outcome, not the reason why, so he couldn’t offer a logical explanation.

’But it didn’t really matter. The outcome alone was enough to draw one conclusion—Defilers truly deserved to die!’

Su Ze guessed this might also be why the Nian Race targeted Defilers. The Nian Race wanted to raise the Blue Star Human Race like cattle, and Defilers were a threat that could steal the fruits of their labor.

With "Mu Wang’s little lecture" for the day concluded, Su Ze gave Chen Suifeng a call.

Chen Suifeng already knew the outcome of the great battle in Ancient An Country, but he was naturally not as clear on the specifics as Su Ze, who had been there himself.

For one thing, he had no idea that Pulamon was now Su Ze’s puppet.

Su Ze recounted the events from start to finish. When he was done, the other end of the line was dead silent.

The reason Chen Suifeng hadn’t contacted Su Ze the moment he got the news was because he was still processing the shocking information that Su Ze now possessed Legendary Combat Power.

When he first heard that Su Ze had teamed up with Deng Sui to fight Pulamon, he was so stunned he was speechless for a long time, assuming the intelligence report had to be wrong.

He still remembered just a few months ago, when Su Ze first came to his office, he was merely at the Butterfly Stage, standing before him like a common grunt.

Now, in the blink of an eye, Su Ze had not only become a Venerable Powerhouse just like him, but had actually surpassed him in combat strength, becoming a being capable of fighting on the Legendary level.

It was no exaggeration to say that Su Ze’s combat power now ranked among the top tier on Blue Star.

And just when Chen Suifeng had finally managed to accept that news, Su Ze dropped another bombshell: he had taken control of Pulamon, putting a Legendary Combat Power under his command!

Chen Suifeng felt like he was dreaming.

Didn’t this mean that the Blue Star Party had just gained two Legendary-level combatants?

Su Ze, Pulamon, and Mr. Ke—with three Legendary Combat Powers, they could finally go toe-to-toe with the Alien Party.

Of course, that was limited to the Alien Party on the Lin Hua Continent. If you included those on the Snowfield and Flame Emperor Continents, they were still clearly outmatched.
