Chapter 540 - 331: The Inheritance Assessment Has Double Standards Too?

Su Ze ignored the three Iron Armor Bears and walked straight to the end of the cave. On the surface, it looked like an unremarkable stone wall, but the strange pull was coming from behind it.

Both Su Ze and Mr. Ya sensed it. They reached out simultaneously and touched the stone wall.

The stone wall seemed non-existent, like a mere illusion, and their hands passed right through it with ease.

Su Ze pulled his hand back and thought for a few seconds. Then, he used a Gravity Chain to pull over an Iron Armor Bear.

He lifted the Iron Armor Bear and smashed it against the stone wall. With a loud BANG, the Iron Armor Bear crashed into the wall, letting out a pained whimper.

’It seems only humans, or perhaps only intelligent life, can enter this Inheritance Space... When Shepherd King entered before, he was considered half-human. At least, his body was human.’

Su Ze picked up the Iron Armor Bear and casually tossed it out of the cave. Seeing this, the other two Iron Armor Bears quickly fled as well.

Su Ze stepped through the stone wall first, and Mr. Ya followed close behind. An expansive space immediately appeared before them.

This was a hemispherical space carved out from inside the mountain. The surrounding stone, including the floor beneath their feet, had been reinforced by special means, making it incredibly sturdy. Even if the mountain were to collapse, this space probably wouldn’t.

In the center of this hemispherical space was a dreamlike, circular blue area, directly beneath a butterfly-shaped chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

The butterfly lamp was the only source of light in the space, emitting an ethereal blue glow that covered the entire area in a thin, blue veil.

"Step into that blue area, and the assessment will begin," Su Ze said, relaying the information he’d gotten from Shepherd King. "Who should go first?"

Mr. Ya thought for a moment and said, "I’ll go first, then."

Su Ze nodded.

Actually, he was a little worried about whether he could pass the assessment.

Pulamon had been unable to pass the assessment because of his status as one of the Defiled. Su Ze also had a small amount of that foul stench in his body, but he wasn’t one of the Defiled.

’He just didn’t know how the inheritance assessment would judge him.’

Mr. Ya had already walked into the blue area. Just as he stood still, the butterfly chandelier above his head suddenly changed.

The blue light illuminating the entire space began to converge, growing more and more focused until it only enveloped the blue area where Mr. Ya stood.

The blue light from the butterfly chandelier shone straight down on Mr. Ya, plunging the rest of the outer Inheritance Space into darkness.

Su Ze stood quietly in the darkness, watching Mr. Ya undergo the assessment.

Beneath Mr. Ya’s feet, the blue area now resembled a screen where lines of text slowly but continuously appeared...

"Age: 31"

When he saw the first line of text appear, Su Ze’s pupils contracted violently, as if he had seen something utterly unbelievable.

Those block characters, both strange and familiar, filled him with an exceptional sense of warmth!

’He never imagined that even after transmigrating, he would see the Chinese characters from his past life again!’

There were many languages and scripts on Blue Star, but none were like any he knew from his previous life.

The script of Dongli was somewhat similar to Chinese characters, but there were also many differences.

But he never expected that within the Inheritance Space left by this expert of the Human Race, he would once again see his familiar mother tongue.

’Could it be... that mysterious expert of the Human Race... he’s from Earth?’

Su Ze’s heart pounded violently. If that were true—if Earth was also just another planet in this world’s vast cosmos—then it would mean he hadn’t transmigrated, but had simply traveled from one planet to another!

’But... could that really be true?’

’Did someone like that really exist on the Earth of my past life?’

’Then why didn’t the Era of Evolution begin on Earth?’

But regardless, the appearance of Chinese characters couldn’t be a coincidence. This was enough to prove that the mysterious expert of the Human Race had some kind of connection to Earth!

As a Transmigrator, Su Ze often felt a sense of unreality. He was always afraid that he would wake up one day and discover that everything had just been a dream.

This discovery, however, made his experiences after transmigrating feel more real, as if everything he had gone through could now have a rational explanation.

It was just that right now, his strength and level were insufficient for him to access the truth behind it all.

Su Ze suppressed his excitement, took a few deep breaths to calm himself, and continued to look at the text on the screen at Mr. Ya’s feet.

Race: Human Race

Skill Rating: S (Divine Blood Crystal recipient)

Talent Rating: A

Potential Rating: S (Has received this Butterfly’s divine blood inheritance; potential is unlimited)

Overall Rating: S

Assessment Result: Pass!

Su Ze was taken aback for a moment. ’Just give the rating. What’s with all the bragging in the parentheses?’

’Is it taking advantage of the fact that no one else can read Chinese characters?’

’This Butterfly?’

’It seems this outer inheritance was left by that giant butterfly. No wonder Mr. Ya’s "Void" skill came from it.’

’And the Divine Blood Crystal obviously refers to the Golden Bloodline Crystal.’

The blue light concentrated on Mr. Ya gradually dispersed, and he slowly opened his eyes.

He had kept his eyes closed throughout the entire assessment. Now, his eyes held a momentary look of confusion.

Su Ze asked, "What’s wrong? What did you see?"

Mr. Ya came back to his senses and said, "At first, it felt like I was dreaming. A voice kept guiding me to release some skills, making me use all of them one by one in the dream. Then, out of nowhere, it told me I’d passed the assessment. After that, some information about the outer inheritance appeared in my mind, and then I woke up."

"It was that simple?"

Mr. Ya nodded. "Yeah. It feels like I didn’t do anything. I just used a few skills in a dream and passed."
