Chapter 541 - 331: Double Standards in the Inheritance Assessment Too?

Su Ze frowned. This wasn’t what Mu Wang had told him.

When Mu Wang took the assessment, he had unwittingly fallen into a dreamscape. But the dreamscape was so masterfully crafted that he never even realized it was a dream. He faced sieges from all sorts of powerful enemies and had to use every trick up his sleeve just to scrape by.

Pulamon’s earlier assessment had been the same. He, too, had experienced grave dangers in a dreamscape, only to have the assessment inexplicably fail in the end.

Su Ze guessed that the dreamscape assessment was meant to push every participant to their absolute limit, with the difficulty tailored to their strength.

But Mr. Ya’s assessment... it seemed like it had gone easy on him.

Wait!

’Maybe it really *is* going easy on him!’

Su Ze thought back to the self-congratulatory text in the parentheses on the ground. ’The butterfly that left this external inheritance really seems like the type to go easy on its own successor.’

Mr. Ya had obtained the giant butterfly’s "Void" skill, so he counted as its successor.

"What information did you get about the external inheritance? Was it the same as what Mu Wang and the others got?" Su Ze asked hurriedly.

Mr. Ya scratched his head. "More or less. A message popped into my head telling me I could come back to receive the inheritance after I complete my sixth evolution. It said it would also pick a divine-grade skill tailor-made for me and send me off Blue Star."

’I remember Mu Wang and the others passing the assessment, but I don’t think it ever mentioned picking a tailor-made divine skill for them, right? It just said they would receive a divine skill.’ Su Ze was lost in thought. The butterfly that left the external inheritance was indeed showing Mr. Ya some extra consideration.

’Is that butterfly still alive?’

’Does it still have a consciousness or a remnant soul? Or did the inheritance it left behind just have a program that automatically goes easy on its own successors?’

Mr. Ya shrugged. "It also told me that because I was late, I didn’t get an inheritance puzzle piece. Only those holding a puzzle piece can enter the internal inheritance. It told me I could search for other inheritance points to get one."

"Helpful tips, too? How thoughtful. Why didn’t it just tell you where the other inheritance points are?" Su Ze teased. "Alright, I’m going to give it a try."

He strode over to the assessment area in the center.

As he entered, the text on the floor that had rated Mr. Ya was completely erased.

The blue light overhead converged once more, descending in a straight column.

Bathed in the dreamlike blue light, Su Ze found his mind wandering. When he came to his senses, he realized he was still standing in the same spot.

A thought suddenly entered his mind: You have passed the assessment!

’What the hell? I passed?’

’I didn’t do a damn thing!’

’So *I’m* the one with the real connections, huh!’

Mr. Ya had at least gone through the motions, entering the dreamscape and flailing around a bit. But him? He didn’t even have to go through the motions; he just passed directly.

’Now *this* is what I call going easy!’

And it wasn’t over. More information flooded into his mind:

"Please collect the four puzzle pieces as soon as possible to enter the internal Inheritance Space and begin the inheritance!

"Below are the locations of the four external inheritance points. Please commit them to memory!"

Four sets of coordinates instantly appeared in Su Ze’s mind.

One of the coordinates corresponded to his current location.

’Holy crap, it just told me the locations of all four inheritance points!’

Su Ze was dumbfounded. He’d put so much effort into his analysis, all for nothing. Who knew this inheritance point had such a double standard and would just give him the walkthrough?

Pulamon, Mu Wang, Mr. Ya, and Su Ze—the four of them had come to take the external inheritance assessment, and they had received four completely different treatments.

Mu Wang had passed after a grueling ordeal. Pulamon had worked himself to death and still failed.

Mr. Ya not only passed with ease but also got helpful tips as a bonus.

Su Ze was even more absurd. He skipped the assessment, passed directly, and was given the locations of all four inheritance points as a gift.

If Pulamon knew about this, he’d probably cry from frustration.

As for the external inheritance, it wasn’t even mentioned to Su Ze. It seemed there was no intention of letting him receive the external inheritance at all; it was just pushing him straight toward the internal one.

’Why not just give me the internal inheritance directly?’

Su Ze looked down at his feet, where his rating was displayed.

Age: ? (1 year old? Not sure, let me check again!)

Race: Human Race

Skill Rating: S (Holder of a Divine Blood Crystal. S is just the limit of the rating system, not your limit!)

Talent Rating: B (Talent’s a bit weak, but your skills are top-tier, more than enough to make up for it.)

Potential Rating: S (Wanted to give SSS, but the rating system won’t allow it!)

Overall Rating: S (Wanted to give SSS, but the rating system won’t allow it!)

Assessment Result: Pass!

Su Ze stared at the comments in the parentheses after each of his ratings, his mind a bit of a mess.

’That butterfly can’t seriously still be alive, can it? A program wouldn’t give such human-like evaluations, right?’

"Hello? Anyone there?" Su Ze knocked on the ground, but there was no answer.

"Hey! Don’t think I can’t read what you wrote! Stop pretending and come on out!"

The Inheritance Space was utterly silent, with only Su Ze’s echo reverberating.

"Boss, who are you yelling at?" Mr. Ya asked, looking around nervously, a little creeped out.

"It’s nothing." Su Ze shook his head and gave up.

The ratings on the ground were actually quite fair. As a clone of Zhao Lingxiao, his innate talent was the same as Lingxiao’s—not bad, but not top-tier either.

However, the skill "Divine Grace of Evolution" had erased the talent gap between him and the top geniuses.

Coupled with the series of top-tier skills he later absorbed, he had not only broken through his own limits but had also surpassed every other genius on Blue Star in terms of foundation and depth.

Divine Grace of Evolution played a huge role in this, but his own hard work and persistence were not to be overlooked.

If he hadn’t challenged his limits time and time again, constantly holding himself to a strict standard and repeatedly absorbing extracts far above his level to snowball his advantages, he would never have achieved what he had today.

Su Ze carefully studied the locations of the other three inheritance points. Two of them corresponded to the number one inheritance point discovered by Lin Hua’s Legend and the number two inheritance point provided by Pulamon.

The third inheritance point’s location was the number four point Su Ze had been searching for. Just as he had analyzed, it was indeed in the upper-left corner of the Blue Star map.

After memorizing the locations, Su Ze didn’t forget his main purpose for coming this time, which was actually for the Inheritance Treasure Vault within the internal inheritance.

He took out a puzzle piece. It was the very same number one puzzle piece left behind by Lin Hua’s Legend.

As soon as the puzzle piece appeared, the Inheritance Space immediately reacted. The light from the butterfly lamp overhead focused on a section of the wall.

A portal immediately appeared there.

"Want to go in together?" Su Ze looked at Mr. Ya.

"No need, Boss. I’ll just wait for you out here."

Su Ze nodded, and clutching the puzzle piece, he strode to the portal.

The gateway, which emanated a hazy blue light, looked extremely unreal, as if a gust of wind could blow it away.

Su Ze lifted his foot and stepped through.

A wave of Dizziness washed over him, accompanied by a tearing pain in his body.

This feeling was clearly not like walking through a normal door. Just as Mu Wang had guessed, this step had traversed space.

He had gone from the hollow cavern inside the Myriad Beast Mountain Range to another dimension.

Without bothering to look around the rest of the Inheritance Space, Su Ze’s eyes immediately began searching for the four small Inheritance Treasure Vaults.

However, when he saw the four vaults, he froze.

Of the four vaults, only one remained unopened!
