Chapter 565 - 8: South Sea Putuo Mountain, Miaoshan’s Purple Bamboo Forest

Hundred Lands Mountain Range, Putuo Mountain.

This is the junction between the South Sea and the Hundred Lands Mountain Range, also an unusually shaped peninsula.

It is almost like an enclave of the Hundred Lands Mountain Range.

This Putuo Mountain is only slightly connected to the land, making it look more like an island.

If you don’t see it for yourself, it’s really hard to imagine how such a tiny "intersection" can tightly connect this peninsula with the land.

The junction of Putuo Mountain and the Hundred Lands Mountain Range is so narrow that it can only accommodate a single bronze horse carriage.

Similarly, those living on Putuo Mountain are not mountain people, but rather some alien races who survived "Wu Yi Shoots the Sky" and "South Sea Calamity".

These alien tribes of vastly different habits are able to coexist, entirely because of one goddess.

Legend has it that this goddess has a thousand faces, thousand eyes, and thousand hands.

Unable to bear seeing the creatures of the South Sea struggle for survival, she established a sanctuary in Putuo Mountain, welcoming those alien tribes who were lonely and helpless.

Over time, a prosperity emerged around Putuo Mountain, unlike anything in the entire South Sea.

Even the mountain people of the Hundred Lands Mountain Range often came to Putuo Mountain, gradually establishing a trade route of mutual exchange.

However, Fu Kui knew better than anyone else.

This so-called "trade route" was actually the unilateral aid from the Hundred Lands Mountain People to the alien tribes of Putuo Mountain.

After all, there was nothing on this South Sea Putuo Mountain that the Hundred Lands Mountain People would want, so how could it be called trade?

"But this won’t do."

"Eventually, Putuo Mountain must achieve self-sufficiency, it can’t always rely on the mountain people’s support."

In the deepest part of the bamboo forest in Putuo Mountain, Fu Kui sat cross-legged and said.

"So I planted these purple bamboos, and once they are fully grown, they will become a specialty of Putuo Mountain."

Opposite Fu Kui, the true master of Putuo Mountain—Miaoshan replied in a deep voice.

Miaoshan was not human.

Nor was she the thousand-faced, thousand-eyed, thousand-armed figure rumored in the outside world.

She was a Celestial God with three faces and eight arms, towering several meters tall, and whose every move carried a unique charm.

This charm stemmed from her three distinctly different faces, from the aura interwoven with compassion, anger, and resentment.

The front was the face of a human woman, being Miaoshan’s true self.

As a Witch, besides her passionate and compassionate nature, Miaoshan herself actually did not possess any particularly powerful abilities.

However, ever since Li Boyang used the Celestial Destiny Curse Technique to forcibly exchange Miaoshan’s Life Chart with Buyan Huyu.

Her life trajectory underwent a tremendous transformation, leaping from a mortal to a Celestial God, and eventually settling in this South Sea Putuo Mountain.

On Miaoshan’s left side was a face of resentment with bristly whiskers.

He was the former South Sea God, Buyan Huyu, who incited the South Sea Calamity single-handedly.

Even though sealed by Li Boyang inside Miaoshan.

He still refused to resign himself to his downfall, ever eager to seize control of this body.

On Miaoshan’s right side was a frenzied face full of anger.

He was the embodiment of Tian Wu who had lost control, originally a Calamity God with eight heads, eight tails, and eight legs.

Though this Calamity God had completely lost self-awareness, the persistent rage continued to burn like fire.

"Purple bamboo?"

Surveying the surrounding purple bamboo, Fu Kui slightly frowned.

"Forgive me for saying so, but I don’t see anything special about these purple bamboos."

"Are you planning to make talismans, just like Mountain Village and Fuzhu Village?"

Honestly, Fu Kui didn’t think this was a good idea.

The mountain people may be generous, but among them, there are inevitably some outliers.

Especially when Putuo Mountain infringes upon their interests, Fu Kui did not believe that those villages growing talisman bamboo would just stand by and watch.

"Of course I’m not that foolish, how is seizing someone else’s livelihood different from seeking death?"

Rolling her eyes in a very human-like manner, Buyan Huyu on Miaoshan’s left suddenly let out a sneer.

But before Buyan Huyu could start mocking.

Miaoshan frowned and stripped him of his ability to speak.

Influenced by Buyan Huyu, Tian Wu on the right became increasingly furious, hints of flames emanating from his facial orifices.

Fortunately, Tian Wu, being a Calamity God formed from rage, had no intention of seizing control of the body, and thus was not truly a threat.

"Your recent situation seems to be getting worse?"

"Even with my assistance, the time you can fully suppress them is getting shorter."

"What exactly are you doing? What on earth is happening to you?"

Now it was Fu Kui’s turn to gaze at Miaoshan with tightly furrowed brows, a sense of unease arising inexplicably within him.

From the moment they met, Miaoshan was unable to subdue Buyan Huyu and Tian Wu, gradually falling into a state of madness under their influence.

But the issue arose from the fact that Li Boyang’s Celestial Destiny Curse Technique was not a simple soul-seizing method, but a complete exchange of Life Charts.

Normally, Miaoshan should have quickly adapted to her power, then completely integrated Buyan Huyu and Tian Wu.

This kind of repeated and uncontrollable state really shouldn’t have appeared in Miaoshan.

"It’s nothing, just a small hiccup in cultivation."

Not answering Fu Kui’s question directly, Miaoshan redirected the conversation back to the purple bamboo.

"The purple bamboo I’ve cultivated in Putuo Mountain, though akin to talisman bamboo, are more like `Heavenly and Earthly Treasures`."

"In contrast to talisman bamboo which demands little of the environment and weather."

"These purple bamboos can only be grown in Putuo Mountain, once transplanted, they will automatically deteriorate and wither."

After adjusting her tone slightly, Miaoshan continued.

"I’m planning to use regular purple bamboo as a substitute for talisman bamboo, mass selling them to the mountain people..."

"In this way, although we lose the direct gain of making talismans, Putuo Mountain will gradually become part of the Hundred Lands Mountain Range system through this process."

"As for those high-quality purple bamboo, I plan to refine them into genuine magical treasures, then sell them to cultivators."

Although Artifact Refining Method was one of the topics Li Boyang taught.

Due to the high threshold of this skill and excessive materials it consumed, it wasn’t something an ordinary loose cultivator could afford to nurture.

Miaoshan intended to exploit this gap.

In times when most cultivators don’t have magical treasures, she aimed to seize this section of the market first.

In this way, even though the types of magical treasures produced by Miaoshan might be limited and inferior in quality compared to Silver Horn.

There was no denying Miaoshan’s commercial endeavor, and without certain connections, it was nearly impossible for the average person to commission Silver Horn for a custom magical treasure.

"..."

Staring at Miaoshan in silence for a long time, Fu Kui finally sighed reluctantly.

"As long as you know what you’re doing, let me know in advance if you need any help."
