[Flash Sale for "Vital Overflow (Gene Skill)" Incoming...]

Honestly, to be frank, among the incoming goods, the one that had Seth hyped the most was the gene skill.
Currently, he didn’t have a lack of items, even though some of his items couldn’t keep up with his strength anymore, like the Grim Executioner set.
With Seth’s gene skills, Absolute Weapon Resonance and Force Embodiment, bolstering its effect, it wasn’t totally useless.
So as of right now, Seth was more gene skill focused. Though he had made a few trips to the Origin Realm, there really weren’t any origin beasts around that could provide what he needed.
The only variable that might have met his needs in the whole of the Savage Oasis was the Night Beast Tide.
But since the Treants cleared the quest, there wasn’t anything worth his attention in the region anymore.
And for now, he and the others had agreed to only begin expedition after the war for hegemony.
Which was why this sale came at the perfect moment. Getting out of the bath, he dried himself with a slight ripple of essence.
Taking his bathrobes from the side, he draped them on. Making his way back to his bedroom, he filtered through his closet and put on some appropriate clothes.
Then sat on the bed, glancing at one of the flash sale notifications as it counted down to the last second.

Eyes flashing, his reflex snapped as his finger punched through the purchase option.
The screen froze as he rubbed his hands, licking his lips in expectation...
[Congratulations! You have Purchased "Astral Trail Boots"!]
The sparkling glow of the notification reflected off his pupils, though he was the only one able to see it and interact with it.
Willing it, he pulled out the information on the item, but even before seeing the details, Seth wasn’t worried.
With the primordial flash sale system’s track record, it was clear it always delivered premium items.
The details screen flickered into sight...
[Item: Astral Trail Boots]
[Rank: Awakened]
[Grade: Monarch]
[Passive Effects:]
+7X increase in base speed
Reduction in wind resistance by 30%
[Active Abilities:]
Astral Trail: Projects a trail of starry essence. Gliding within the trail boosts speed by 30X for 3 seconds and coats users with the grace of starry essence, increasing damage-dealing capacity by 20%. (Requires a 13-second cooldown period after use.)
Astral Flight: Allows user to glide through the wind at the cost of essence.
Astral Shift: Gives user the ability to increase weight by 30 tons for 2 seconds. (Requires a 5-second cooldown period after use.)
Tsk, no evolvable tag... Seth lamented. After being spoiled so much by the system, Seth was already used to expecting the tag a lot from flash sales.
And not seeing the tag automatically reduced the value of the item in his heart.
Though that didn’t mean he saw it as useless. Adding this item’s abilities to his Willborn abilities would increase his speed by vast margins.
Plus, this could be equipped independently of armor, which meant it would cost far less essence to maintain.
And without the weight of armor and increased wind resistance of one, he could really maximize the speed boosts provided by the item.
Digesting all the information relayed, his eyes lingered on the last active ability.
This skill one might be puzzled about its use, but to Seth? It was a very useful ability.
He once faced a Mini Boss back at Avalon that could manipulate its weight, and he knew firsthand what a ridiculous boon this ability could provide its user.
As an Awakened, with a high defense and speed stat, Seth’s base weight was already pretty high — about 3–4 tons. In fact, it was so high he had to actively maintain control in order not to damage his surroundings on Earth.
Though the Origin Realm might handle his weight no problem, Earth was a different story. And if he or any of his teammates were to unleash their restraints on their weight, they could literally destroy their entire residence.
The point being made was that defense, strength, and weight were different aspects but were intricately tied together.
One couldn’t have one without the other. Something insanely durable had to be equally dense. As for a creature’s strength to be high, it needed enough weight to back up that strength.
While the defense provided protection to one’s own body so you could actually land a punch without damaging yourself.
It was a circle that fed off each other, meaning if paired with someone with a battle IQ versatile enough, this Astral Shift ability could be a killer.
Seth’s essence trait "Burden of Will" couldn’t even push an item’s weight beyond the 6-ton cap, and it was still a boon — talk less of this Astral Shift.
All in all, Seth was pretty satisfied with the boots...
Glancing at the other flash sale notification, he still had a few minutes left till available, so he could only wait.
While thinking, Seth pondered back to a question he had once asked the Oracle...
"What was the true differentiating factor between gene skill and item grades?"
To which its reply was essence density, especially for gene skills. A higher grade meant a denser essence.
Meaning, 10 units of essence from a Leader Grade Awakened would provide a higher effect than that of an Elite Grade Awakened.
But Seth wasn’t satisfied with this reply. Though it did make sense to him previously, now, especially since he awakened a Saint Grade gene skill,
Seth could feel a fundamental difference that came with this grade, something that went beyond the concept of essence density.
But no matter how much he pondered over this question, he still couldn’t place his finger on an appropriate conclusion.
Just as he was drifting deeper into thought...
