Chapter 254: Classifications of Gene Skills

[Gene Skill Crystal: Vitality Overflow]

[Grade: Monarch (Evolvable)]

[Details: The Surge of Vitality is the Surge of Life. As long as vitality remains endless, the body remains undying. ₦@#-₦& the enlightened one once preached, the Dao resonated, and the vitality core formation art was formed.]

[Skill Effect:]

Vitality Core: Creates a stable core within the solar plexus, granting one the ability to passively refine the world and origin essence.

Vitality Surge: Vital core secretes a rapid flow of vital essence, replenishing vitality stats and repairing damage in an instant.

Stem Cell Generation: The baptism of vital essence flow from the vital core causes the practitioner’s body to reactively generate special immortal stem cells that prevent cell degeneration, maintaining the practitioner’s cellular makeup in its peak state.

Seth’s eyes widened, his previous gloom fading in a blink as he scrutinized the details more carefully, to be sure he wasn’t mistaken.

A chill of excitement coursed down his arms as he re-read again... "T-This changes everything." Seth muttered in awe.

His pupils quivered in delight — this gene skill crystal was definitely worth the price!

The pain stemming from the loss of countless flash points was instantly soothed.

This gene skill crystal defied everything he thought he knew about gene skills, for this was clear proof that gene skills had various classifications.

From the description alone, Seth could tell that the influence this gene skill would have on his body was drastically different from the ones sourced by his gene lineages.

Though previously he assumed only gene skills sourced from gene lineages could undergo grade evolutions, this crystal proved him wrong.

Plus, there was also the fact that this gene skill would directly modify his body passively.

That last skill effect, Stem Cell Generation — to express it in layman’s terms — would grant him everlasting youthful immortality.

With this effect alone, Seth understood the reason for the exorbitant price.

Curious about gene skill classifications, Seth quickly summoned the Oracle crystal.

From a ripple of space, the crystal orb gleaming with brilliant rays of emerald bled out.

Bobbing in the air, hovering right before Seth, he asked straight away:

"Are there any classifications of gene skills?"

Pulsing with a bright shade of emerald, the green crystal orb processed the question.

[Indeed, there are several classifications of gene skills... though the amount of classifications may vary due to the constant discovery of genetic skills.]

Seth’s eyes gleamed with affirmation — he had been right!

"Okay then, can you list the classifications you are aware of..."

The orb pulsed with brilliant hues of emerald as it processed...

[After careful analysis, only five forms of classifications are listed within the database. May I proceed?]

Seth’s eyes flashed, catching the subtle hint. It clearly stated only five were within its database, meaning even across privileged tiers he wouldn’t find more.

Nodding, he granted permission...

[The classifications of gene skills have been grouped into five known interactions with reality. The first two are the most common classifications, while the following two are extremely rare types. As for the last, it’s mostly associated with sacred genetic lineages...]

"Common, rare, and sacred huh? Let’s see what you’ve got..." Seth muttered, squinting as the Oracle began its monotone voice echoing in his mind.

[Enhancement/Influence Types: A form of genetic ability that influences the state of organic and inorganic matter structures, providing buffs or debuffs in some cases to items and living beings alike. Restriction-type gene skills also fall into this category.

Elemental Manipulation Types: Genetic abilities that directly manipulate the very structure of matter and energy itself.

Cultivation Types: One of the most fascinating types of gene skills, granting users access to special forms of essence.

Law Types: An extremely rare form of genetic ability that condenses various laws of reality itself into energy.

Energy Conversion Types: A special type of gene skill, extremely rare and powerful, known for its ability to reshape its user’s essence and will forms in an instant.]

Seth’s eyes glowed as he silently digested the knowledge...

Eyes narrowing, he subconsciously began categorizing various gene skills he had seen into different blocks...

But something wasn’t adding up...

These classifications had flaws at a glance. For example, his dead enemy the Treant.

That guy had a special noble-grade gene skill, one that couldn’t be classified under a single block.

For instance, the Whispering Lotus Flower, the product of the gene skill, could be classified as an elemental type...

Then there was the fact that it condensed a curse-type energy beam, which definitely fell under the Law type.

Glancing at the Oracle, he posed a question with specific wording.

"Can a gene skill be classified under more than one type?"

[Indeed, host... some special types of gene skills provide skill effects that fall within multiple classifications.]

Seth nodded. Indeed, he was right — a gene skill could provide functions that spanned categories.

"So that means..." Seth started categorizing his own gene skills...

"From my Grand Weapon Maester lineage I inherited one enhancement-type gene skill, and the second should fall under the last classification — ’Energy Conversion’." He thought with a brilliant gleam in his eyes.

Who would have thought his Saint-grade gene skill was classified among the rarest abilities that existed across the cosmos?

"Then both gene skills inherited from my Asyra King lineage are most likely Law types." He concluded.

After all, both the Force of Annihilation and the Force of Tide weren’t physical concepts — they were laws given form...

"Which makes this new gene skill I’m about to acquire fall under both Cultivation type and Influence type." Seth finalized with a smile.

Instantly summoning the gene skill crystal, a cold emerald-green orb settled on his palm.

Waving his hand, he dismissed the Oracle crystal immediately.

A prompt flickered into view...

[Gene Skill Crystal "Vitality Overflow" Detected!]

[Four vacant gene skill slots available!]

[Would you like to assimilate gene skill "Vitality Overflow"? Y/N]

Seth wasted no time. His finger punched through the air, affirming the process.

Feeling excited as this was his first time actually assimilating a gene crystal, he grabbed the cold-to-touch rough gem.

With a refreshing flow permeating his cells, he felt an ethereal force exiting the gene skill crystal and seeping through layers of his cells.

Eyes closed, he used his will for introspection, analyzing the process, but he quickly lost track of the flow of energy.

As his genetic configuration was at a layer of inspection his mind couldn’t possibly observe at the moment.

So he only felt the chilling flow subside, as a subtle spark in his mind — a new layer of control snapping into place.

Almost like acquiring a new limb, and your brain instantly registering the muscle memory required to fully control it.

Seth opened his eyes, glancing at his hands as he clenched and unclenched...

Instantly he felt a pull from his solar plexus. Unknowingly, a new organ had formed — a crystal membrane core constantly pulling on the dormant essence from his surroundings.

Actively forming a new flow of vital essence, and with his World Saint title unknowingly providing a buff, the formation flow was progressing drastically faster than it should have.

Seth smiled, and was just about to test something out when his ears twitched...

Someone was calling him from downstairs, and it seemed his attention was needed.
