Chapter 273: Two worlds meet

Seth bade farewell to his team and quickly zipped off into the skies, while the four were left to gather and sort the five division soldiers assigned to Apex.

Seth had something urgent to do, hence Uriel volunteered to help him gather the Shackled Realm soldiers into batches for ascension.

Fortunately, his worst fears never came true, and all new blood soldiers assigned to the five divisions had fully maxed their stats.

They weren’t sure about the incoming allies from Mexico, Canada, and the South American continent.

But if they had to guess, these evolvers had to have reached maxed stats to qualify for the division allocation.

So Seth didn’t worry much about this...

He raced through the wind, tearing straight for the research facility, a reaction coursing through his cells.

Not from excitement to devour like the last time, but from recognition.

Seth could instinctively tell another bronze human was in this building. A soft grin graced his lips as his feet gently met the earth.

The guard soldiers didn’t give him much trouble, allowing him to proceed into the massive dome facility without a hitch.

Following his senses as a guide, his bronze cells drew him toward the location of this new bronze human.

His heart thudded with both anticipation and anxiousness. Through too many twists and turns, in the end he was back here, and it seemed he’d get that chance to see her again before the war.

Before long he arrived before a familiar door. Last time he was here she was unconscious and in the stage of assimilation.

But now he could clearly sense movement behind the metallic door before him.

He summoned his identity card and tapped it against the security sensor.

The boxed compartment flashed blue then green, and with a gear‑twisting whirr and a mechanical hiss, the door slid right open.

And Seth stepped right in without a second thought.

She was the only one that could confirm whether his plan could actually be implemented or not.

His gaze swept the room, locking on her figure, and he went stiff...

There she stood, her vermillion bright hair flowing straight down her back, her skin tone unblemished...

She turned his way, his eyes met hers, and time seemed to halt between the two.

Seth had seen her previously, but she was unconscious, so now it hit quite different. Her entrancing emerald gem‑like pupils seemed to draw him into a trance.

Her beauty was as transcendent as he remembered...

Her gaze widened, obviously startled by his presence. "Ah... you... you’re here," she managed to let out.

Seth nodded ever so silently, never breaking contact with her eyes.

Her gaze dropped, her countenance becoming apologetic. "I heard from my grandfather that you came earlier... sorry."

Seth shook his head, threading forward, space folding in his path, and in a single step he was already before her.

He hesitated for a split second before moving his hand to help her tuck some stray strands behind her ears.

Glancing down at her, he smiled. "Why should you be sorry? I did promise I’d come back for you."

Kylie’s heart skipped a beat, a faint shade of pink surfacing on her tender cheeks. Feeling so shy, she couldn’t meet his gaze.

She was confused about her current demeanor. Since when did she become a bashful maiden? Since when had she ever had to rethink her words so carefully before speaking?

She had never experienced this before. She had never let a man that wasn’t her father or grandfather come this close to her before.

So why was it that she felt so much joy and expectation before this man?

All her life she had scoffed at the concept of love at first sight. Heck, she had even dismissed the notion of love entirely.

Seeing it as a concept only those of shallow mental process would get stricken by such a plague... but in the end here she was.

It seemed she was shallow‑minded, and she didn’t mind. A pleasing scent of musk drifted into her nostrils as she stared down at his chest.

She was in love, wasn’t she?

A broad hand, coarse and rough — one she estimated would at least have enough force to send a mountain to smithereens — reached for her chin, the gentleness behind it unimaginable.

Seth tilted her head upwards, and she met his gaze once more...

For the first time since Kylie’s evolution, she felt all her senses dull. Everything was cancelled out from her world except him.

His heartbeat, his flow of breath, and the sight of him were all she could process at the moment.

The same could be said for Seth. At this instant, everything died down except her. This was a level of calm he had never achieved during enlightenment.

It was the fusion of two worlds that refused to part, each revolving around the other.

At this instant he forgot about the war, he forgot about what he came here for. All he could process at the moment was her and how she made him feel.

Straight away he could tell no woman across the cosmos would make him feel so vulnerable — in the sense that at this moment, no matter what she asked, he would do.

So possessive, in the sense that even if the world wronged her, he was ready to stand against the world as long as she remained by his side...

Meanwhile, while both sides were lost in each other’s world, that very second a reaction no one imagined began to occur.

Down on a cellular level, the bronze human genes buzzed in resonance, a wild urge blooming from the depths of both bronze humans.

The main goal of every life form was to reproduce. At least that was the core mission of life.

Divide, replicate, flourish.

This was a fundamental part of life each race needed to follow.

It wasn’t a question, it was a law, ingrained into the cell of every living being. The directive to mate lay within the will of each individual.

And while both Kylie and Seth were masters who had long curbed these desires, it had continuously stacked till this moment.

On Seth’s side, each moment he faced death, each moment he underwent an evolution, the natural primal urge he carried within him thickened.

It was an instinct he couldn’t hide from forever. Though his control over his will could keep this desire suppressed under the right circumstances, this instinct could take over.

The same could be said for Kylie. She had just undergone a primal racial evolution, something very few creatures alive could go through.

She was now a bronze human, and as a woman, her instincts would naturally stack — a new body ready to produce life.

Under the right push, she could fall into heat... especially when the only current bronze human was before her.

Of course, that wouldn’t be enough to grind at her will. The level of attraction she felt toward Seth was also a crucial factor.

And at this moment both figures released pheromones that pulled on the very instincts they had suppressed forever.

Seth was suddenly overwhelmed by a rush of heat, his abdomen clutching compact, as a little instrument below was flooded with blood.

And instincts he never knew were so strong came over him. He could resist, but did he want to?

The same on Kylie’s end. Her face went flushed, a heat source from her abdomen consumed her, her breath fogged, and her back trembled.

She could stop this right now, she could take a step back, and it would all die out... but then why did her heart beat with so much expectation?

Why was it she didn’t want to let go?

Seth didn’t hold back. His other hand reached for her waist, strapping her to his chest.

Kylie didn’t resist, and that was all the reply he needed. His head sank, his lips meeting hers...

Author’s Note:

Guys, I just realized I made a mistake in the previous Chapter 271. The correct count should be six mecha models and seven divisions — instead, I mistakenly wrote seven mecha models and eight divisions. Sorry for the inconvenience! It’s been corrected, so feel free to reread for clarity.

Anyway, thank you so much for the support — I truly appreciate it!
