A truly great battle was coming. The King of Hundred Birds against the Snake Race’s newly promoted Snake King. It was hard to say whether this new King of the Snake Clan was simply fated for conflict with the Yaoling Mountain Range, or if he was just naturally detestable.
He had burst onto the scene at his peak, immediately drawing the murderous attention of two Deep Mountain Demon Kings. Now, before he had even cleaned up his own mess, he had provoked the King of Hundred Birds.
At this rate, it looked as if he intended to make an enemy of the entire Yaoling Mountain Range.
Two Deep Mountain Demon Kings, plus another Demon King—such a lineup was like shaking hands with the Death God himself. Death could come at any minute.
The demons below erupted in discussion, their gazes all fixed on the Saint Peng King. The majestic sight of a Demon King’s battle manifestation was not something one could see easily; this was a true feast for the eyes.
Especially the Golden winged Roc, adorned with six differently colored wings. His entire aura surged to its zenith. Even for those watching from below, it was a terrifying sight; their hair stood on end as if bewitched, turning ice-cold.
Among all the Kings of the Races in the Yaoling Mountain Range, this King of Hundred Birds was considered the one most likely to one day become a Deep Mountain Demon King—a fearsome existence.
"Bird race, I’ll let you make the first move. Hurry up. Don’t waste this Snake King’s time," Tu Xiao’an said, wreathed in a Dark Flame, his voice cold and flat.
When the Saint Peng King saw Tu Xiao’an’s casual demeanor, he was instantly furious. ’What is the meaning of this? He’s going to fight me in his complete human form?’
The sheer arrogance was insulting.
With a cold snort, the six differently colored wings behind the Saint Peng King unfurled, so vast they blotted out the sky and sun. A violent torrent of Energy immediately erupted from him. The feathers beneath his six wings danced like sharp blades, emitting the metallic clang of striking swords.
The immense, dense sound was ear-piercing; the very heavens and earth trembled.
"I only need one move to turn you into a Dead Snake."
A cruel, savage smile spread across the Saint Peng King’s face, radiating bloodlust. His body shuddered as he roared, "A Sky of Sword Feathers!"
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH... WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH...!
In an instant, the six enormous, differently colored wings behind the Saint Peng King unleashed countless feathers. Their sheer number and density resembled a vast ocean.
The moment the feathers were released, the air filled with the flash of deadly blades, forming streaks of multicolored light like an aurora. Killing Intent billowed out like ripples, like ocean waves, sweeping across the land before converging from all directions on a single point: Tu Xiao’an’s position.
Looking up, one saw a dense, innumerable swarm of feathers blotting out the sun as cold light streaked across the sky.
Tu Xiao’an watched with cold eyes, his vision filled with points of light, each one brimming with Killing Intent. The power of a single feather was countless times greater than that of a bullet, and in an instant, they had surrounded him from all sides, leaving him no chance of survival.
’This attack looks familiar. My Azure Owl used something similar once, firing its own feathers as projectiles.’
’But the Saint Peng King’s feather attack is far more terrifying, far denser, and its power is on an entirely different level.’
’He’s not dodging?’ A cold glint flashed in the Saint Peng King’s eyes as he saw the snake hovering there, unmoving. In the blink of an eye, he would be shredded to bits. ’Tsk tsk. Right, there’s nowhere to dodge. He can only wait for death.’
The space Tu Xiao’an occupied was completely sealed off. Before an ocean of feathers, where could one possibly dodge? Where could one flee?
Unless you could teleport instantly.
0.03 seconds. WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH...!
The sky-filling feathers pierced through Tu Xiao’an’s body again and again. Suddenly, Tu Xiao’an was torn asunder and vanished from sight, as if he had been smashed to pieces.
Strangely, however, there was no sign of blood.
"Aaaah...!"
A shrill scream escaped Su Rushi’s lips. What had she just seen? She had seen that slender figure instantly dissipate, vanishing like smoke into thin air.
Once the countless feathers passed through, nothing remained but void.
"Don’t make such a fuss. My scoundrel of a master won’t die that easily."
the Azure Owl said comfortingly.
"Really?" Su Rushi’s perception of her "pet snake" was now incredibly blurry.
Seeing the damned snake’s body completely disintegrate amidst his countless feathers, the Saint Peng King broke into a triumphant smile.
It was no exaggeration to say that a single one of his feathers could claim the life of a Rank Three Demon Spirit.
A Demon King’s attack simply defied all reason.
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH...!
The countless feathers returned like a receding tide to the Saint Peng King, his six wings once again enveloping a patch of the sky.
"Brother Bai, my apologies. I’m afraid I was a bit too heavy-handed and smashed that snake to pieces. There probably won’t be a Snake Gallbladder left for you to steep in wine," the Saint Peng King said, glancing triumphantly at the distant White Demon King.
’The snake that two Deep Mountain Demon Kings couldn’t kill has now died so easily at my hands—the hands of the King of Hundred Birds. How badass is that?’
The White Demon King frowned and thought, ’It can’t be that simple. Otherwise, that snake would have died at my and the Gray Demon King’s hands long ago.’
Just then, a demon in the crowd below cried out in alarm, "Look! What is that!"
In a patch of the sky, clouds of dark gas began to swirl. They slowly gathered and reassembled, and gradually, a human form appeared.
After a moment, Tu Xiao’an’s refined features materialized, and he was wearing a faint smile.
"How is that possible?!" The Saint Peng King stared, utterly astonished.
’What kind of ability is that? It’s monstrous! To be able to break down and reassemble one’s body... It’s like an Immortal Body!’
"Brother Peng, that snake has mastered a Dark Element attribute ability!" the White Demon King called out as a warning.
The Saint Peng King was shocked yet again. ’Under all of heaven, there’s actually someone who can control such a monstrous Attribute Power?’
Before, the Saint Peng King hadn’t paid any mind to the black flame wreathed around Tu Xiao’an.
He had assumed it was just condensed black Demon Qi.
"My turn. Shroud of Darkness!" The moment Tu Xiao’an rematerialized, the Dark Flame around him seethed like boiling water. A massive, endless torrent of Dark Flame burst forth.
The Saint Peng King’s expression turned grave. He suddenly felt the sky and earth go dark, as if he had been plunged into a terrifying abyss. It was pitch-black all around, so dark he couldn’t see his hand in front of his face.
In the eyes of the watching demons, the Saint Peng King was devoured by a massive cloud of Dark Flame, leaving a giant black sphere floating in the sky.
Both the King of Hundred Birds and the King of the Snake Clan had vanished from sight.
"What a terrifying Dark Ability! His methods are simply divine!"
The demons stared at the giant, floating black sphere, completely dumbstruck.
"Bird race, welcome to Tu Xiao’an’s Dark Abyss."
"Hmph... Playing smoke and mirrors. What good is this? Break!"
RUMBLE... RUMBLE...!
Fierce explosions erupted from within the giant black sphere. The sphere itself began to expand and contract, as if swelling with hot air.
A short while later, the demons actually heard the Saint Peng King let out a miserable scream. A strange look crossed their faces, and many of them suddenly became disgruntled.
This Snake Demon was going too far! Was he just going to beat his opponent up in private? How dare he not let them watch the show! A spectacle like this was a once-in-a-century event. To miss it would be a lifetime of regret.
