"Since you all seem so eager to seek death, I’ll grant your wish." Wu Tian’s face was cold and stern as he looked at the Golden Monkey King and his followers charging toward him. For Wu Tian, slaughtering the innocent was nothing to fuss about.
Innocent? Are there truly any innocent people in this world?
Wu Tian pointed a finger, and immediately, streaks of Blood Glow burst forth like living creatures, closing in on the Golden Monkey King and his companions.
"What is this thing?" As the Blood Glow emerged, the Golden Monkey King and the others felt an involuntary tremor. They froze in terror, stopping dead in their tracks as the Blood Glow bore down on them. Its aura was terrifying; the mere sight of it made one’s very soul shudder.
The Golden Monkey King immediately tried to grab a minister.
"Your Majesty, what are you doing?" the minister screamed in horror.
The Golden Monkey King paid him no mind, simply hurling the man toward the Blood Glow. He needed a test subject to gauge the Blood Glow’s power. This minister was the one he chose, for the simple reason that he was the closest.
"No!"
Under the Blood Glow, the minister was chopped to pieces as if butchered by a flurry of blades, dying a death too gruesome to witness.
After killing one person, the Blood Glow did not dissipate. It continued toward the Golden Monkey King and the others. This Blood Glow was clearly no ordinary Martial Arts Technique; it seemed alive.
"How terrifying." The Golden Monkey King and his followers, who had just rushed forward to fight Wu Tian to the death, now scrambled backward in fear. They shoved one another, each hoping the others would die first.
Any notion of serving in the same court or the righteousness between ruler and subject was utterly extinguished in that moment.
Wu Tian sneered and strode forward. "You bunch of monkeys. After gaining human form and human nature, you’ve only become more despicable."
The Golden Monkey King and his men tried to flee, but the Blood Glow was too fast. The Golden Monkey King dropped to his knees and kowtowed, banging his forehead against the ground. "This King was wrong! This King was misled by a treacherous minister and made a grave mistake! This King will write a confession! Please, spare this King’s life!"
The minister who had offered the advice was stunned. He never imagined his king could be so cowardly, so afraid of death that he would shift all blame onto him. When he saw the Blood Glow turn toward him, the minister panicked and shook his head frantically. "No, no, no, that’s not what happened! As a minister, I am only responsible for offering counsel and strategy! The decision to act or not lies with the Monarch!"
"Nonsense!" The Blood Glow swiveled back to the Golden Monkey King, who leaped up in fright. He cursed the minister before lashing out with a vicious slap.
SLAP!
A crisp smack echoed, and a vivid red handprint appeared on the minister’s cheek. "This King is still young! I was easily deceived by you, you treacherous minister!"
The blow was so vicious that the corner of the minister’s mouth started to bleed, a truly pitiable sight. He could no longer contain his fury and roared, "You incompetent ruler! You call yourself young? You’re not even eighteen, yet your harem is teeming with she-monkeys!"
"You dare speak to this King in such a manner? Is this a rebellion?" the Golden Monkey King roared back, and the two began to scuffle furiously.
"A king who is no king, a minister who is no minister. You all deserve to die." Wu Tian grunted and gave the Blood Glow a command.
SWOOSH! The Blood Glow shot forward with razor-sharp momentum, tearing through the air. It looked immensely powerful and truly formidable.
"No—" The minister let out a terrible scream. He managed only one word before the Blood Glow slew him.
Then, the Blood Glow targeted the Golden Monkey King. One strike, and the Golden Monkey King would undoubtedly die. The other ministers didn’t dare move to save him; they were terrified of death. Besides, they were afraid the Golden Monkey King would use them as shields, turning them into sacrificial pawns.
"No..." Seeing the Blood Glow aimed at him, the Golden Monkey King’s legs trembled violently. He stammered, so terrified he wet himself.
Just then, a yellow bird suddenly descended from the sky. Another Law Enforcer had arrived. He leaped from the bird, streaking through the atmosphere before landing with a tremendous crash.
CRACK! The earth buckled and split apart beneath him.
This Law Enforcer was also cloaked in a yellow cape that obscured his face. He stood before the Golden Monkey King, his posture ramrod straight, and said calmly, "Rest assured. With me here, no one will harm you."
"You... you’re finally here!" The Golden Monkey King was so overjoyed that he burst into tears, weeping like a woman.
He was terrified of death and had thought he was surely doomed. But the arrival of a Law Enforcer meant there was a chance to live.
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet! The Law Enforcer before him was a Heavenly King Realm expert.
"Who killed my brother?" the Law Enforcer asked coldly.
Among the Law Enforcers, there was a rule: "Brothers in service, superseding brothers by birth." This meant that once you became a Law Enforcer, your fellow Enforcers were your true brothers, a bond that surpassed any ties of flesh and blood.
"It was him! He killed the Red Law Enforcer! He’s arrogant, cruel, and bloodthirsty! A truly top-tier demon!" With the Yellow Law Enforcer present, the Golden Monkey King no longer feared Wu Tian. He wept inconsolably, painting Wu Tian as the devil incarnate.
The Law Enforcer nodded. "Before he killed my brother, did he know my brother was a Law Enforcer?"
The Golden Monkey King nodded hastily. "He knew! He knew! But it was useless. He killed him even after knowing his identity as a Law Enforcer!"
"Such audacity! Such audacity! Truly, such audacity!" The Law Enforcer’s anger turned to a cold laugh as he strode directly toward Wu Tian.
The Blood Glow still hovered before them.
Seeing this, the Golden Monkey King hastily warned, "Be careful! This demon’s Martial Arts Technique is treacherous!"
Without turning his head, the Law Enforcer tossed back a few words. "It’s nothing but... trivial tricks."
He was angry. He wanted to kill. From the moment he became a Law Enforcer, the title "Law Enforcer" had secured the highest place in his heart. Kinship, love, friendship... all of it seemed worthlessly light when weighed against that title. But now, someone had killed a Law Enforcer? To him, this person had violated a sacred law, committing a sin of enormous magnitude.
But before he killed, the Law Enforcer still had to ask, "Was it you who killed my brother?"
This was merely a formality, a gesture to show that, as a Law Enforcer, he did not kill the innocent recklessly. He needed the offender to confess before acting, to demonstrate the impartiality and fairness of the Law Enforcers.
Wu Tian nodded. "Yes. So what?"
"It is good that you admit it." The Law Enforcer nodded coldly. With a flick of his hand, a blade appeared in his palm from his Storage Ring. It was a Supreme Treasure, the Seven Kill Blade.
With the treasured blade in hand, the Law Enforcer stated coldly, "Since you have confessed, come and meet your death."
Wu Tian sneered. At his command, the terrifying Blood Glow targeted the Law Enforcer.
"Be very careful!" Knowing the Law Enforcer was his last hope, the Golden Monkey King couldn’t help but shout another warning. "This Blood Glow is truly terrifying! Dodge if you can! Avoid it at all costs! Don’t confront it head-on!"
Hearing this, the Law Enforcer spat disdainfully.
What a joke. With the Seven Kill Blade in hand, why would I need to dodge?
