Shiela's POV
Shiela, I once again heard . However, this time the call was coming from the bathroom door . not in the head .
When I opened the door, I was met with the tomato-red cheek pointing at me and eyes fixed to me .
I completely forgot that I didn't even warp a towel before opening the door until I looked down at myself .
I screamed and shut the door fast, my cheek turning tomato red from my folly .
I get myself ready with a towel and leave the bathroom .
I couldn't help but feel ashamed of what I had done; how could I have been so foolish ?
I looked down at my toe and wondered if it was Ashley or Lincoln at the door .
I just praise God that it wasn't any of them and that it was his mother and not him .
I should not have called you that, I'm sorry . Mom of Ashley commented as she extended some clothing for me .
" I was afraid that something had occurred . " She continued, and I took the clothing from her .
I started counting my fingers, which piqued my interest .
When you didn't return his call, Ashley became concerned as well .
He mistook you for asleep when we were on our way to your room and thought you had passed out .
My bed is being made, she remarked .

I went into the wardrobe to get dressed and chastise my mind and the wolf for misinterpreting her words .
A short while later
She handed me a short-sleeved Free dress, which I wore as I exited .
I sat next to her on the sofa with my hair in a bun . After a period of stillness, I finally posed the query that was driving me crazy .
" Mom, aren't you mad at me ? " I questioned nervously .
" Why ? "
She enquired while pouring a cup of coffee for herself and me .
" For fighting Athena and not telling you we were mates when I got the chance . " If Beck says she is having a breakdown, I warned her about it .
" No, I'm not"
She responded, which caused me to stare at her in surprise .
She patted my head and added, " You know it took me a good year to tell my parents when I got to meet my Mate .
I have to pleadingly ask my mother not to inform my dad for a week . which gives me an additional two weeks to tell my father . She continued, sipping on some coffee .
And your battle with Athena was justified because you were defending your Mate and your proper position .
Additionally, you were battling for the pack .
She made me question why as she spoke .
" Why ? "
I asked, unable to control my anxiety .
If you don't say anything, everyone will think she's the Luna .
And as you can see, my kid isn't prepared to take action . I nodded as she stated .

Kissing my head, she said .

I asked while standing .

I yelled after her because I heard her hum, but she had already left my room .
Why did she say that earlier ? Thinking while lying on my side .
I whimper as a result of the ache in my side . I switch to lying on my back to sleep now .
When Lincoln stepped through the door, I was sucked into unknowing thoughts .
