Chapter 1017 - 1044: First Day on the Job, Asking for Monthly Tickets (3)

Mia Ginger smiled, "Of course, this also requires journalists who are committed to seeking truth and being practical. I want to take on the challenge."

The man looked at her, nodded, and gestured for her to continue.

Mia Ginger thought for a moment, "Sunshining Network is the most influential news portal in the country."

Man: "?"

Mia Ginger smiled and said nothing further, indicating she was finished.

The man was slightly stunned, "Is that all you know about Sunshining Network?"

"No," Mia Ginger smiled, "I just feel that this is enough to support my determination to stay at Sunshining Network."

The man tapped his fingers on the table, speaking softly, "Reporting news is quite exhausting. The journalism field is far less glamorous than people imagine. Around the office, people say privately, ’Women are used like men; men like beasts.’ The job involves hardship and exposure to the elements, and for urgent news, you must be ready to go anytime, even in the middle of the night. Work hours are extremely unstable, and sometimes, to catch the news, pulling all-nighters is normal. Girls aren’t quite suited for it, especially delicate and beautiful ones like you."

Mia Ginger: "..."

She looked somewhat helpless, at which the man chuckled and continued, "However, your resume shows that interning here won’t be a problem. I’m happy to let you understand the necessary details. After a three-month internship, we usually prioritize hiring males."

"I understand." Mia Ginger nodded, "Can I join the social section?"

"You’re welcome." The man smiled and stood up, "I’m the news editorial department director, Jay Lee."

"Hello, Director Lee."

Mia Ginger also stood up, taking her resume and documents from the table.

They both left the glass cubicle, and seeing Mia Ginger hand her resume to the front desk, Jay Lee smiled faintly and said, "Follow me."

Mia Ginger quickly followed in his footsteps.

With the director appearing and accompanied by such a beautiful young lady, there was naturally a bit of a stir in the work area.

Someone had already noticed Mia Ginger and whispered back and forth.

"Reagon."

Jay Lee maintained a steady pace, somewhat out of place in the hectic environment, stopping outside the social section and calmly calling out.

Mia Ginger then saw Reagon Chapman.

Reagon Chapman clamped a phone between her ear and shoulder while opening her handbag, seemingly looking for something and sure looking very busy.

She spoke a couple more sentences to the phone before temporarily hanging up and approached the two.

"I’m assigning you an intern, get acquainted," Jay Lee said to Mia Ginger, "She’s the group leader of the social section, Reagon Chapman, you can call her Sister Chapman. We don’t have many rules here, just do what makes you comfortable, and you’ll be following her from now on."

"Okay." Mia Ginger smiled, "Sister Chapman, what a coincidence."

Reagon Chapman glanced at her, smiled faintly, "Sure, I like to keep work and personal life separate, keep that in mind going forward."

Mia Ginger: "?"

Mind what?

Pretend not to know her?

Alright then.

She nodded at Reagon Chapman with a similarly faint smile, "Got it."

Jay Lee looked over the two briefly and said to Reagon Chapman, "Alright, you take it from here."

"Okay."

Jay Lee turned and walked away.

Reagon Chapman pointed at an empty spot at the end, "You can sit here, first check our website for some understanding, and ask people if you have questions. There’s a meeting with everyone soon."

"Okay." Mia Ginger nodded.

Reagon Chapman didn’t say much more, then turned and left.
