Chapter 1022 - 1049: Deliberate Targeting (3)

"Done?" Reagon Chapman asked her.

Mia Ginger: "Yeah."

Reagon Chapman smiled, "Let’s call it a day."

Mia Ginger: "..."

She pursed her lips, took a deep breath, and said with a smile, "I sent you the draft on QQ."

"It’s not really a big news piece, no need to send it," Reagon Chapman said while shutting down her computer, "It’s getting late, you should head home early and be careful on the way."

During this conversation, she didn’t look at Mia Ginger, and she didn’t even receive her draft, she just closed QQ directly.

Mia Ginger bit her lip tightly.

She turned around and went back to her seat.

The whole office was left with a few editors on night duty, it was awfully quiet.

Across from her sat a young man who looked at her for a long time and gave a smile full of sympathy.

Mia Ginger shut down her computer, grabbed her bag, and headed straight for the elevator.

The elevator lobby was empty too, and thinking about how they were on the upper floors, she hesitated for a moment, not wanting to take the elevator alone.

As she waited, Reagon Chapman arrived.

Still on a phone call.

"You are too kind, really no need."

"It’s really not a big deal."

"I understand, of course, I understand, it’s not easy for anyone at work, don’t worry."

"I didn’t let it be sent, I’ve already clocked out."

"..."

Sentence after sentence, her voice echoed in the elevator, and Mia Ginger seemed to hear the voice of the woman on the other end of the line, it sounded like... Manager King?

She hadn’t finished the call inside earlier, just after a few minutes, the call came through again?

Just thinking randomly, she also understood what was going on.

Mia Ginger wasn’t in a good mood.

Since Reagon Chapman kept on the call, she didn’t wait. Seeing the elevator display "up," she went in directly, went up to pick someone up, and then went down; she didn’t encounter Reagon Chapman again, and she breathed a slight sigh of relief.

She felt like exploding.

If she still couldn’t sense that Reagon Chapman was targeting her now, she’d be a fool.

Especially when she had worked so hard for hours, and the person didn’t even take a look at it, rejected it outright, then turned to reassure that so-called manager, the feeling was just too frustrating.

Indeed, as she said, the news wasn’t significant.

But—

Is there anyone who, without a word, would directly extend her off-duty time by more than three hours?

They were acquainted at first, but now she’d rather not know her.

The feeling of being targeted is naturally unpleasant.

Mia Ginger almost gritted her teeth as she exited the elevator, and when she was getting her car, she ran into Reagon Chapman again.

She looked at Reagon Chapman with a smile, "Sister Chapman."

"Hmm." Reagon Chapman nodded, glanced at her car, and said in a mild tone, "Just started working and already driving an Audi?"

Mia Ginger: "Yeah."

As the word fell, she waved and said, "It’s late, I’m heading off first, see you."

"Bye." Reagon Chapman said reluctantly.

Watching as Mia Ginger drove out of the parking area, her expression was quite indifferent.

She had been in the profession for six or seven years, always striving for excellence in the company, not the type to be particularly social; mainly, she had a fiery disposition and drive, and many things she couldn’t stand, making it difficult for colleagues to feel comfortable.

However, she had her own set of strategies outside the workplace, at the very least knowing how to maintain connections, respecting people from all walks of life.

She indeed deliberately targeted Mia Ginger today, and it didn’t feel great.

Mainly—

She had thought for a long time alone in the elevator just now and realized that the reason she was evidently targeting her was actually because of Dallas Taylor.
