Chapter 750: A Snowfall

After driving those people away, the small courtyard finally became quiet, and Xu Mumu immediately felt much more comfortable.

"Sister-in-law, what do you think those small bases are like?" Yin Chuchu was extremely curious.

"Do you want to go and see?" Xu Mumu asked with a smile.

"Kind of want to see." Yin Chuchu nodded.

"Then when we pass by, we’ll take a look." Xu Mumu thought for a moment and said. She also wanted to see what that small base was like, just a small county base.

"Sister-in-law, will the country manage those small bases in the future?" Yin Wanqiu seemed a bit more interested in this.

"Probably, since those people are all part of Hua Country." Xu Mumu thought for a moment and said. However, in her previous life, she had not yet seen a complete unification.

They originally planned to pass through Shiyuan County, so going there to take a look wasn’t a big deal.

As for the potential of being hunted down, they weren’t afraid of it at all.

After resting here for a night, they set off again, with everyone wearing thick clothes because it had started to snow.

The snow wasn’t heavy but added a touch of silver-white to the dark land.

"The snowfall will affect the zombies’ movements." As Yin Lin spoke, a breath of warm air came out in front of him. It was truly freezing cold, and it’s said to get even colder, though it’s uncertain to what extent.

They weren’t short of cold-weather materials in their hands, so they weren’t too worried.

It’s just that it’s too cold, making it unsuitable for traveling.

"The weather turned cold so quickly, in just two or three days, it dropped at least a dozen degrees." Yin Ting hugged her arms tightly, shaking, as the temperature was nearing zero degrees.

"It will get even colder." Xu Mumu looked at the white snow outside, realizing such low temperatures would make the zombies’ movements slower.

"How much colder will it get?" Wearing thick down jackets, they weren’t as agile when killing zombies. If it continued to get colder, Yin Chuchu felt like life would be unbearable.

"Not sure." Xu Mumu smiled. They needed to find a stable, warm place to stay for the coldest days.

Xu Mumu shared her thoughts with Yin Yang, who also intended to do the same. It was too cold for traveling and not as preferable as the hottest times.

After walking for a while, continuously killing zombies wasn’t so cold; Little Huo stood beside Xu Mumu, with the little guy warming up the surroundings. Yin Chuchu and Yin Wanqiu soon gathered around.

"It’s so comfortable beside Little Huo." Yin Chuchu stroked Little Huo’s smooth big wings, both warm and comfortable.

"There are no survivors active outside." Yin Yang had been keeping an eye on the surroundings, noting the zombies had quieted down too.

"The nearby resources are nearly cleared out." Yin Lin added.

"We don’t lack resources, but the snow is increasing, and we need to find a place to stay temporarily." Before reaching Shiyuan County, the snow had already started falling heavily, which worried Xu Mumu a bit.

"Yes, let’s first check out Guanghua Base, it’s not far from here." Yin Yang checked the map on his phone, where only old place names were marked, none of the small bases.

After deciding to temporarily stay at Guanghua Base, in the evening, Xu Mumu and the group found a small courtyard to settle in. By the time they reached, the light snow had turned heavy, covering the ground thickly.

"The snow is getting heavier, it’ll be tomorrow afternoon before we can reach Shiyuan County." Yin Yang checked the map, estimating their current pace.

Sitting in the courtyard, by the fire, Xu Mumu fell into deep thought, feeling like she forgot something important.

Steam rose from the pot hanging over the fire, and people gathered around talked and laughed, creating a lively atmosphere.

While Xu Mumu was lost in thought, the little elf in her spiritual space had awakened.

"Mumu, Mumu, I’m awake. Look, I’ve grown up." The little elf’s cheerful voice appeared in Xu Mumu’s mind.

Xu Mumu looked over, indeed, the little guy had grown a lot. It now resembled a three or four-year-old human child, with an adorably childish voice.

"You woke up so quickly; has the space changed?" Xu Mumu asked boldly.

"No major changes, the space has grown bigger, and living things can now be placed inside, but that’s about it." The little elf said shyly, having absorbed two large meteorites, with little change to show for it.

"Can I bring people inside?" Xu Mumu asked, thinking if people could enter, they wouldn’t fear danger.

"No, you can only bring plants and animals inside, not humans." The little elf shook its head.

"Why?" Xu Mumu was speechless.

"I don’t know either. Humans just can’t come in yet, maybe because the Reincarnation Jade’s level isn’t high enough." The little elf tilted its head.

"Alright then, can you leave the Reincarnation Jade now that you look like a human child?" Xu Mumu asked with a smile.

"Not yet, I have to grow to an adult’s size before I can leave. You must collect more meteorites for me." The little elf’s eyes sparkled as it looked at Xu Mumu.

This time, collecting two huge meteorites had helped her immensely. It accelerated her evolution, making her very happy.

"Alright then." Xu Mumu nodded, having a sense of the evolving nature of the Reincarnation Jade, with meteorites being the catalyst.

"Little elf, do you remember what happened around this time in the previous life? I feel like something significant is about to happen." Xu Mumu slowly drank a bowl of hot soup.

"Ah, it’s snowing outside! I remember at the first hail, an earthquake occurred, though it was confined to the southeastern area." The little elf tilted its head, thinking.

"Yes, exactly the earthquake, the hail fell three days after the first snow. This snow won’t stop, it will only get heavier, and we are right on the earthquake zone." Xu Mumu’s pupils shrank.

It was because of this earthquake that many small bases were destroyed. After the quake, a large zombie wave erupted, causing countless survivors to perish.

Xu Mumu uneasily ate a bit and returned to the room, where Yin Yang asked her, as he had been worried about her unsettled appearance, fearing something might happen.

"What’s wrong? Your face suddenly looks bad, are you feeling unwell?" Yin Yang asked with concern.

"It’s nothing, I just remembered something very important. Yin Yang, we can’t go to Guanghua Base, let’s find a place to settle down first." Xu Mumu looked seriously at Yin Yang.
