Chapter 751: Hailstorm

Upon hearing what Xu Mumu said, Yin Yang fell silent. According to Xu Mumu, the Imperial City would also be affected, but since it’s on the outskirts of the earthquake zone, the impact wouldn’t be significant. In comparison, their current location is much more dangerous.

"Should we ask Dad to warn the people above?" Xu Mumu looked at Yin Yang and asked.

"Without evidence, those people probably won’t believe it. But it’s still necessary to remind them," Yin Yang pondered for a while and said.

"Whether they believe it or not is up to them. We’ve done our part by warning them," Xu Mumu said seriously, knowing that she’s not a savior meant to save the world.

Yin Yang nodded, agreeing that what his wife said was right; reminding them is enough.

As for finding a place to stay next, there are too many buildings here, which indeed makes it unsafe.

The two quickly discussed and decided to leave the place while the snow hadn’t fallen heavily yet.

The team, though puzzled, packed their things efficiently and left the small yard.

It was snowing outside, making driving inconvenient, so the group had to brave the snow on foot.

Snowflakes landed on their faces and quickly melted.

"The snow isn’t black, who knows if it contains a virus." Yin Chuchu touched the snow on her face, somewhat surprised.

"I don’t know, but the base likely has people specialized in testing these things," Yin Yang said calmly.

Although the group felt cold, their pace did not slow down. With dusk approaching, they didn’t have much time left to travel.

Fortunately, they were in the suburbs, and after about an hour, they reached a farmhouse.

"Let’s check if anyone’s there," Yin Yang took care of the nearby zombies, then spoke to Yin Lin.

Yin Lin approached the two-story villa; it seemed like someone had been here before. The door had been violently broken, and inside, the house was turned upside down. Most of the usable tools had been taken, leaving behind only what couldn’t be carried away.

"Brother, no one is here, come quickly," Yin Lin waved at Yin Yang and the others.

The group went over and conducted a simple inspection. Temporarily, it seemed they could stay here. The house had only two floors, so in case of an earthquake, they wouldn’t need to fear much. Moreover, the yard was spacious enough.

The zombies and animals in the yard were easily cleared, and Yin Yang arranged for the team to fix the door and tidy the house, since they would be staying here for quite some time.

By the time Xu Mumu and the others tidied up the rooms, it was entirely dark outside. Fortunately, they had eaten a bit earlier and weren’t too hungry now.

Nevertheless, Xu Mumu took out plenty of food for them as a supper and placed some grains outside, which would be their rations for the coming days.

At night, the house was very cold. Xu Mumu felt a bit better since she was an Ice Element superpower user.

Seeing everyone was freezing, Xu Mumu took out a generator from her space. The house was equipped with air conditioning, and fortunately, the electricity was still functioning, much to everyone’s delight.

Meanwhile, Yin Yang had taken out his phone and conveyed Xu Mumu’s earlier warning to Yin Peng, asking him to alert the higher-ups and to reinforce the Yin Family’s home. Despite the Imperial City’s location on the outskirts, he was also worried about any potential issues at home.

Upon hearing Yin Yang’s words, Yin Peng indeed took the matter seriously and even expressed concern for Yin Yang and his group’s situation.

After reporting their safety, Yin Yang ended the call.

With the air conditioning on, it wasn’t cold anymore, and they slept comfortably that night.

When Xu Mumu and the others woke up the next day, the world outside had turned white; the snow had deepened, and thick piles covered the yard, extending over the rooftop.

Yin Yang systematically arranged the team to shovel the snow, worried that when the earthquake came, if they weren’t killed by it, the snow would bury them instead.

The snow was cleared outside, revealing several zombies frozen solid in the snow, standing rigidly with half their bodies buried.

These zombies weren’t dead but made it easier for Yin Yang and his team to directly chop off their heads with a single stroke.

After harvesting some Crystal Cores outside, they also cleaned the snow around the house.

The location of their chosen house was quite good; although it backed onto a mountain, it was just a small hill. There were no tall buildings nearby, so if an earthquake hit, they could escape immediately without any significant danger.

"Brother, there are no mutated plants nearby. Haven’t seen any animals, only a few zombie animals," Yin Lin reported after exploring the area early in the morning.

"Are there any survivors in any of the houses?" This area seemed to be a village with houses not too far away.

"No, the rooms have been completely scavenged," Yin Lin shook his head.

Yin Yang understood that there were no survivors in the vicinity, and the number of zombie animals and zombies was low, nearly all cleared.

The snow showed no signs of stopping, with temperatures dropping further, even making the superpower users struggle.

Inside the room, Xu Mumu took out plenty of meat and vegetables, perfect for hotpot in such cold weather.

With the stove burning and the air conditioning running, the room was pleasantly warm.

When Yin Yang and the others returned, a draft of cold air swept inside, almost extinguishing the freshly lit charcoal in the stove.

"It’s extremely cold outside; this post-apocalyptic winter is really bizarre," Yin Chuchu shivered, hugging herself.

"We’ll get used to it. The weather has only gotten more extreme since the apocalypse began," Xu Mumu said calmly, adding more charcoal to the stove.

The group gathered around the hotpot, feeling quite lively. Since the apocalypse began, their days were mostly spent fighting zombies and eating quickly prepared meals or food that Xu Mumu brought out already prepared. Eating together like this was a first.

Seeing everyone in high spirits, Xu Mumu even took out some white wine, letting everyone warm up with a drink, while she and the other girls opted for juice.

After the hotpot, Xu Mumu was sweating a bit.

Outside, small bits of hail began to fall, making the weather even colder.

"It’s hailing?" Yin Chuchu’s eyes widened. Despite the hail being small, when hitting one’s head, it still hurt.
