Theo tightened his grip around Feng’s neck.
The wind howled around them as they rapidly began climbing.
Below them, the King Cobra’s massive body remained coiled amongst the stone spikes, its cold eyes never leaving them for even a second.
Its mouth slowly began to open, leaking out a bright red mist.
’More poison mist,’ Theo thought, glancing down with a smile.
The two lightning bolts beside him continued growing larger, almost reaching the size of a car.
CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
Golden arcs began jumping around as they neared each other.
Just then, the deep red mist burst towards them.
Feng glanced down, a hint of irritation flashing through its eyes.
It calmly maintained the wind around its body, making itself unaffected by the poison.
As the red mist washed over them, Theo let out a deep breath and raised his hands.
Below, countless water droplets began spreading through the air.
Once they reached their positions, they all halted and patiently sat there.
Tens of thousands of water droplets began surrounding the King Cobra.
’Let’s see how it responds to roughly a quarter of my mana,’ he thought.
Theo instantly released the lightning bolts.
Both bolts shot straight towards the water droplets.
CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
The lightning bolts exploded into countless smaller arcs.
Like branches of a tree, they leapt from droplet to droplet.
Within a heartbeat, the entire area around the King Cobra transformed into a massive web of golden electricity.
Thousands of lightning arcs raced through the air from every direction.
The King Cobra’s pupils immediately narrowed.
HISSSSSSS!!!
It slammed its tail against the desert.
Sand shot up from the ground, swallowing the bottom droplets.
At the same time, thin earth plates began wrapping all over its body once more.
Yet, before the armor could completely form, the first lightning arcs reached it.
ZZZZZT!
Dozens struck its body simultaneously.
The King Cobra violently flinched.
Its hastily formed earth armor blocked many of the strikes.
But not all of them.
There were simply too many for it to deal with.
Lightning continuously found tiny gaps between the stone plates.
Some struck its exposed scales.
Others crawled across its body before jumping to another water droplet and striking again from a completely different direction.
CRACK! CRACK!
Scales began to blacken one after another, some even having tiny holes disintegrated through them.
HISSSSS!!!
The King Cobra roared in fury.
Its body twisted violently as more earth mana erupted around it.
An enormous wave of desert sand surged into the air, spiraling around its body like a sandstorm.
Theo’s eyes narrowed.
’It’s getting rid of the droplets,’ he thought, clenching his jaw. ’Another creature that can manipulate sand...’
WHOOSH!
The swirling sandstorm expanded rapidly.
Water droplets disappeared one after another.
And the lightning arcs?
They simply vanished into the sand, leaving nothing behind but scattered shards of glass.
Within only a few seconds, his entire attack had disappeared.
The King Cobra didn’t give Theo a chance to recover, though.
HISSSSS!
It opened its mouth wide, revealing two sets of razor-sharp fangs, green poison already dripping from them.
Without giving them a chance to respond, the King Cobra’s head shot towards them.
’’Feng!’’ Theo shouted.
The unicorn reacted before Theo had even finished speaking.
WHOOSH!
Streams of wind blew beneath its wings.
The unicorn violently changed direction, narrowly pulling them out of the Cobra’s path.
BOOM!
The King Cobra’s jaws snapped shut where they had been hovering only a fraction of a second earlier.
But it wasn’t done there.
Its massive neck twisted through the air, lining itself up again.
It opened its mouth once more.
Only this time, dark green liquid began gathering into a large sphere inside.
Theo’s eyes widened.
’’Feng! Go up!’’ he shouted. ’’Acid incoming!’’
Feng didn’t hesitate.
The streams of wind immediately shot him high into the sky.
Almost at the same time, the massive sphere of dark green acid shot from the King Cobra’s mouth.
Theo glanced back, his eyes only growing wider.
’Fast!’
As the sphere shot through the sky, gray mana began pouring out of Theo’s hands.
A large Chaos Door opened up behind him right away.
The moment the acid sphere reached it, it disappeared without a trace.
Theo’s brows furrowed for a moment.
’No resistance?’ he thought.
Quickly shaking his head, Theo opened up the exit gate.
WHOOSH!
The acid sphere shot back out, heading straight for the Cobra.
A cunning glint appeared in the King Cobra’s eyes.
It swatted the sphere away without much difficulty before opening its mouth once more.
Massive amounts of acid began gathering beneath its fangs.
’’Fuck,’’ Theo cursed. ’’It must’ve realized I’m not immune to that.’’
The next second, the King Cobra began releasing thick poison clouds alongside the acid.
For a moment, Theo wasn’t sure if it actually knew.
But it didn’t take long before he realized what it was actually doing.
’It’s hiding its attacks!’ he thought, his eyes widening.
The purple smoke had become so dense that neither Theo nor Feng could see more than a few yards ahead.
Feng immediately reacted.
The unicorn rapidly began climbing into the sky.
Before long, they darted out of the purple smoke far above the King Cobra.
’’Contractor,’’ Feng’s voice rang out. ’’Are you sure you wish to continue this fight?’’
Theo glanced down for a moment.
He couldn’t even answer as a spray of dark green liquid shot out of the purple smoke like a wave.
Another broad Chaos Door opened up right away.
BOOM!!!
As the liquid splashed against it, the door trembled slightly.
But it got sucked inside without issue.
WHOOSH!
Theo opened the exit gate right away.
The torrent of dark green acid burst back out, crashing into the thick purple mist below.
HISSS!
A furious hiss echoed through the desert.
Theo let out a small breath and glanced back at Feng.
’’We’ll continue,’’ he said, clenching its fur tightly. ’’There has to be a weakness somewhere...’’
His mind rapidly started churning.
Brute force hadn’t worked in the slightest.
His strongest water attack required him to be on the ground, which was a melting hazard zone at the moment.
Suddenly, Theo’s eyes lit up.
’’Feng,’’ he called, his voice growing calmer. ’’Did you see the spot where its initial injuries were?’’
