Ancient werewolf legends speak of the Moon Goddess granting soulmates, but the grim reality is more sinister: soulmates are a fallacy. The true essence of their existence lies in The Run. Twice annually, under the unsettling light of a blue moon, a savage ceremony takes place. She-wolves are compelled to escape, their survival at stake as male wolves relentlessly pursue them. Surrender is unthinkable, leading to a fate more horrific than death—a violation, forced marking, and utter subjugation by the dominant wolf. There are no pardons, no leniency for anyone, and particularly not for Grace Harvest. Grace has spent her life constantly evading this brutal custom since reaching maturity, a phantom perpetually eluding its grasp. Now, with the approaching blue moon, her evasion is nearing a critical point.
